Love Me... Love Me Not: HBO Scraps Racy Series

Skin is... out, at least where Tell Me You Love Me is concerned. HBO, which had ordered a second season of the "controversial" (if not exactly compelling) series after just four episodes, has opted not to resume production after all.

In a statement, series creator Cynthia Mort explains that the creative team was "unable to find the direction... for the second season."

Tell Me You Love Me concerned three couples undergoing counseling for all manner of sexual issues. Cast members included Sonya Walger (Lost), Ally Walker (Profiler) and Jane Alexander (as the couples therapist who got busy in her own right). — Matt Mitovich

Pity.

I liked it.

Guess this is the incentive I need to go ahead and watch the last few episodes.

I'm sorry for the actors and the crew but at least now maybe Sonya Walger could join Lost as a regular. I love Desmond and Penny and I hope we get to see them a lot next season.

I for one am happy HBO canceled a second season of "Tell Me You Love Me." There are some actors who should never disrobe for the camera. Ally Walker and Jane Alexander are two of those actors. Alexander should keep her clothes on for obvious reasons:she's old, and no one wants to watch old people in the buff.

There was a time I'd salivate to see Walker in the raw, but not at this point in her career. She didn't stay in shape. Watching a once beautiful woman in the nude now, who has no muscle tone what so ever, is really sad.

But Sonya Walger is quite lovely. Particularly disrobed.

An intriguing set-up, with considerable potential. Unfortunate it didn't materialize.

I really liked this show. Figures they would cancel it. Guess I can take it off my season pass and add some other show now.

HBO may still be the leader in original programming but Showtime is catching up in regards to quality programming on cable..it's a shame, the show was worth watching despite the nudity. The acting was solid and kudos to the stars who did take it off....old or not!!!

I have to be honest that I'm not surprised or disappointed. I watched the first five or so episodes of the show because I love Adam Scott, but I just couldn't get into it. Every episode seemed to be the same thing over and over, and I didn't find most, if any, of the characters even likeable... The acting was great, but other than that, it seemed too weak to last.. I still feel bad for the fans, though, since I certainly know how it feels to get hooked on a show and have it cancelled all too soon....

However you feel about this show, HBO needs to knock it off: they're getting a reputation for promising things and then not delivering. We're going to have a second season of Tell Me You Love Me. Okay, no we're not. Oh, yeah, we're going to make a couple of Deadwood movies to wrap up that series. Oh, wait a second, no, we're not.

HBO, there's several reasons why Showtime is stealing your crown, but this kind of behavior sure doesn't help.
