Hatcher Gives Lawsuit Lip Service, More Legal Briefs
Teri Hatcher has responded to the $2.8 million lawsuit she was hit with earlier this week. "Ms. Hatcher has not entered into any agreement with any other cosmetic or skincare companies or otherwise authorized or permitted any competitors of [Hydroderm] to use her name, likeness or celebrity in the promotion of products," her rep tells Extra. "[She] has done absolutely nothing wrong and has been ready, willing, able and eager to perform." In denying the plaintiff's motion, the judge called the claims "character assassination" of the "worst kind."
Elsewhere: • Idol alumna Jessica Sierra has pleaded not guilty to charges of disorderly intoxication, resisting arrest and violating conditions of her parole on earlier felony battery and possession charges, and is being held without bail until her Dec. 20 hearing. According to the AP, Sierra's attorney is working with doctors to plan a drug and alcohol program for her.
• Gary Collins on Thursday was sentenced to four days in jail after pleading no contest to driving under the influence on Oct. 23, People reports. It was the former talk host's second DUI arrest within the last 10 years.

The thought of Gary Collins behind bars is freaking me out! He and his wife, Mary Ann Mobley, are like Wonder Bread. They are so All-American that it would send shockwaves through the entertainment world 30 years ago. Sometimes, it's good to be irrelevant, I guess.
Pat Boone once wore heavy metal leather to the American Music Awards and Donny Osmond even went through his greaser-and-turned-up-collar phase (unfortunately for him, he did it in the late 80s, when that fashion statement carried its own quaint irrelevance). Those were attempts at hipness, but to me, they are overshadowed by the idea of Gary Collins guest starring, not in an episode of Love American Style, but in an episode of Oz!
I know what I am writing will mean nothing to the majority of those posting on tvguide.com, because I'm thinking back to a category of celebrities who were once considered utterly without controversy or scandal. They were cute and bland. They were mid-level celebs at a time when it was thought the American public wouldn't accept Fonzie in a leather jacket, so he wore a beige windbreaker in the first season of Happy Days. Those days actually happened, kids. And the last time I saw Gary Collins, he was hosting The Home Show, which previously held the timeslot of The View. I guess that pretty much sums it up.
Those of you who can think back to when Britney Spears' starmaker-machinery was touting her as a virgin-til-marriage, remember what it felt like back then. NOW, flash-forward to today's Britney of the pink-handcuffs-in-the-sex-room, with nothing in between. THAT is what it feels like to hear Gary Collins is going to jail.
I graciously thank anyone who got THIS far into my post. (I don't think I would've made it this far!!!)

It's a good post, TV Gord. I always thought of Gary Collins as the benevolent father type, so this struck me as wrong, too.
I'm a bit confused by the first item, about Hatcher. Does this mean the lawsuit against her was thrown out? The judge's comment cited here makes it seen like Hydroderm had a vendetta against her. More info, please.
