Hasselbeck Births a Boy, Due Back on The View After New Year
Tim and Elisabeth Hasselbeck by Gary Gershoff/WireImage.com
The View cohost Elisabeth Hasselbeck and her husband, NFL quarterback Tim Hasselbeck, on Friday morning welcomed their second child, a son, in an Arizona hospital. The baby weighs 7 pounds 15 ounces. "Both mom and son are happy and healthy," Dad reports, adding that 2-year-old daughter "Grace is so excited to be a big sister."
Elisabeth — who embarked on an early maternity leave Oct. 23 when her hubby landed a gig with the Cardinals — will reveal her newborn son's name on Monday's The View via telephone. (The smart money is on Ronald or George.)
Elisabeth is due back on The View in early January, when the show returns from its holiday hiatus.

That show is going so well without her, I hope she doesn't come back at all.

I love the way you all make snide and rude comments about celebs while hiding behind artificial screennames. Show some balls, folks, and if you are willing to be crude, rude or obnoxious on a personal basis about these folks sign your REAL names!!
Otherwise sign yourselves "GUTLESS" !

LOL @ the Ronald/George line! Lawdy, I hope it's not NEWT!!!
I do miss her from the show, so I'm anxious for her to return.
I also want to take this opportunity to say that I was wrong about Whoopi. I thought she would be awful on The View, and she's...not. I have a few quibbles with her (I wish she would cut back on chanting, "Stop stop stop stop stop stop stop!", when someone says something with which she disagrees.), but I am much more impressed with her than I thought I would be.
The View has reached a nice happy medium for me. I will always miss Meredith and Lisa. I will NEVER miss Debbie and Star. I will always love Rosie (even though I'm disappointed in the way she skulked away from the show), but I think it's right that she's gone. Right now, with Joy, Elisabeth, Sherri and Whoopi, I'm pleased with the dynamic of the show. (Just bring Bill Gedde back to the front row, and I'll be content.)
As for Barbara, I have always respected her, but I don't think she fits on The View. Still, it's her show, so I gladly tolerate her (the way I tolerated grandma towards the end...I miss grandma now, so I'm not going to call for BW to be edged out).
Sorry to be so long-winded. I'm just starting a vacation, so I'm posting with wild abandon. (One of my respite plans is to read Rosie's book this week.)

Happy that all went well for both mother & child. How is she going to manage the View Gig? Teleconferencing?? Sharri adds nothing to the show and was an awful choice. It would be interesting to know what her negatives ratings are. She has nothing intelligent to say and she says it VERY loudly. Hope her contract was not for more than a year.

Corrine,
I don't think I was personally attaching anyone but feel free to write me nurseman3000@aol.com.
I think using a screen name is fine but people tend to hide behind it at times to be just a rude, mean and demeaning as possible cause they don't have to face consequences of what they write.
It is gutless.
Personally attacking someone versus an honest critique of their work are two different things.

Corrine,
I believe I stated that it is only gutless to attack people on a personal level and hide behind a screenname. If you a giving an honest critique of their work, that is one thing. Personal mean spirited attacks are another thing if you lack the nerve to actually sign what you have written.
Feel free to contact me (nurseman3000@aol.com).
I am sure that I will hear from plenty of gutless folks willing to hide.
Thanks

Poor kid. Hopefully it will learn to run away from its demon of a mother sooner than later.

It would be better for this country and THE VIEW if she stayed out on permanent maternity leave. She's a loudmouthed disgrace!

Congratulations to Elisabeth for having a healthy baby boy! As far as her return, I don't care one way or the other, as Rosie ruined that show for me - but, it'll be nice when she does come back, because she'll restore the "right" voice to that show (which is nothing but a liberal Bush-bashing love fest without her)!
Robert W. Nielsen(and that's my real name, too)!!

Hey All,
I am so sick of people putting down Hasselback...I do not agree with her at all on anything but, she adds what the view needs. Without her the show would be 4 women who agree on everything. We need the mix to spice it up and she does that. Congrates to her and her family. And like I siad I do not think she is right on anything but, the view needs her like any good family dinner.
