Grey's Anatomy by Bob D'Amico/ABC TV Guide spoke exclusively to Shonda Rhimes about the springtime return of Grey's Anatomy. Full details will be revealed in the March 31 double issue of TV Guide, but this little nugget is too hot to sit on. In fact, it could get certain 'shippers' temperatures rising. "I am pretty dedicated to the idea that Meredith and Derek are to be together for good by the end of this season," Rhimes told us. "What's going to be interesting is to see how she gets her act together, and how they decide that this is it." So does that mean a wedding finale? "I'm not saying that," Rhimes replied. OK, but will Meredith get a ring? "I'm not saying that, either," she said with a laugh. "Then again, I'm not saying that she won't." Hmmm, there's not going to be another Seattle Grace prom, is there? "how she gets her act together"??? How about DEREK's act? HE is the one who told her "I love you.. till I find someone better!" or "I'll wait for you... two weeks, then I'll cheat on you & kiss someone else. But I love you! Why don't you trust me Mer?" Gee.. I wonder.

Thank you!! A lot of people think that Derek should realize that if Meredith has trouble to trust him, it's in a big part because of him. Cause she was ready in season 1. Then we all know what happened... The beginning of a great show, yes, but also the beginning of Mer's doubts, and I so understand her.

I'm not saying that Derek doesn't have his issues (he does), but Mer seems to be having a lot of trouble when it comes to committing herself to something more permanent. I really enjoyed the happy Mer-Der times, in prior seasons and at the beginning of this last one; I hope they each jump their own hurdles and end up together (for good) so I can watch some more good times!

yawn But them together or not...who cares. Sure tonnes of people like them together BUT there are A LOT of viewers that could care less. I have a hard time focusing on Mer/Der when I can't get passed Meridith's whining and Ellen P's "so called acting".

I agree with everyone who's saying that they BOTH need to examine their behavior, but I'm not going to kibbitz over semantics. I've seen Shonda pull them out of the fire convincingly before and I'm quite sure she can do it again if that is her goal. Thank you for focusing your energy on this, Shonda. I can't wait to see what you have in store.

Ellen Pompeo is one amazing actress.
She is the reason the whole show shot to fame in the first place when it was only her and Mcdreamy. She is my reason for watching the show.

It's going to be great to have them together again. Dempsey and Pompeo have incredible chemistry together, their off screen friendship and amazing respect for each other puts those two characters way on top. the show will definitely be back on track.

while in theory this makes me ecstatic, its still Shonda and I still don't trust her. And I am SOOOOO SICK AND TIRED OF THE "McDREAMY"!!! He f**ked up too!!! When is HE going to get himself together? I hope Meredith doesn't pull another "pick me, choose me, love me" speech to win him back.

I personally think its time they both move on. Find someone new. I like Rose for Der and Mer... well she will just have to find someone... when she is ready

Maybe it's just me, but I'd be happy if Derek stuck with Rose and they brought back Finn for Meredith. I'm a huge Chris O'Donnell fan, and I'd love to see him come back to Grey's.

Ugh, Rose is almost as annoying as Lexie. She can bounce. I hope Derek's thing with her is similar to his attempt at reconciliation with Addison in the second season where he spent all his time thinking about Meredith and just going through the motions with his bedwarmer.
