What Brings Denny Back to Grey's?

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is on his way back to Grey's Anatomy... but why, and how?
JDM originally played Izzie's ill-fated patient/sweetheart, yet ultimately saw that run come to an end when Denny's ticker timed out.
Morgan would later reprise his role for an episode in which a waterlogged Mer flirted with death, but was urged by Dead Denny and Dead Kyle Chandler to choose life.
So what now? Is Grey's going to kill off Izzie, as has been rumored by one online site, and Denny will resurface to escort his love to The Other Side? In a word, no. For starters, at least one inside source assures me that there is no plan to off Izzie as a means of punishing outspoken cast member Katherine Heigl. Besides, Morgan has already filmed his scenes, which are to air in the season premiere, so the timing is too soon to even accomodate any such tearjerker.
My take? Denny will appear to Izzie in a dream, as a sort of "epiphany" to the sometimes aimless doc to get her ish together. How and why would you bring him back for the season opener? — Matt Mitovich

I'm always glad to see the man on my screen and will welcome any reason to fit Denny back in somehow, but...I request a show where Jeffrey Dean Morgan does not die or play someone who is already dead. Pretty please?

I'm with Dianora!!!!
I'll take him any way I can get him, but what I really want is JDM on the screen on a regular basis.
Although, I don't necessarily mind him playing a dead guy.

I would love for them to bring him back as an unknown twin so JDM could be a regular again.

Someone please cast JDM as an alive reoccurring character!!!

I think it's awesome Denny's coming back. I lovedd how they brought him back last time, espcially the scene with him and Izzy together at the end when she feels his presence. Whether he comes back in a dream or whatever, there's nothing wrong with him coming back spiritually no matter what his purpose. In can only be for the good!

Anyway, I'm really psyched about Denny's return. I can only hope that it'll serve as closure to the whole Gizzie debacle--namely that Denny ALWAYS was and will be the love of Izzie's life. This was my main beef with Gizzie, that after loving Denny the way she did, she could suddenly fall so deeply in love w/her best friend, it just didn't gel for me. Can't wait till September!!!

My guess is that Izzie's night of passion in the season finale will result in a pregnancy with the baby being Denny's reincarnation - hence as she is beginning to realize that she is pregnant he is 'visiting' her in her dreams prodding her to the realization that she is pregnant.

Chinita731, I saw him in that movie. YUM YUM YUM I'd rather NOT see him wasted on GA, though. I gave up on that show months before this past season ended. They should have done a better job with him when they had him!!
I want to see him in more movies or a series of his own.

As a Supernatural fan, I love JDM .. and am hopeful that they'll manage to work him into their upcoming season and that JDM is available to do it!!!!! (yes, I know, he's not "alive" on that show either .. but he tends to look really really good for a dead guy!!!)

Including the movies he's in.
