Good News for Back to You, and K-Ville, Too

K-Ville by Skip Bolen/Fox
On the heels of the announcement that Fox has cut back its order for Amy Sherman-Palladino's midseason comedy The Return of Jezebel James from 13 to just seven total episodes (see the Ausiello Report for more) comes word that the network has picked up two additional scripts for the ratings-challenged K-Ville. Variety is also reporting that Kelsey Grammer and Patricia Heaton's Back to You is due for a full-season pickup by Fox, perhaps coming as early as this week.

Glad to see K-Ville get some support from FOX. I have enjoyed it so far and nice to see a (small) vote of confidence from the network.

Oh that is good for K-Ville. I've been enjoying it, but thanks to fricken baseball it will have to break. :(

I'm really happy for K-Ville. It's the only one of the new fall series I really find myself enjoying. I'd be happier if it were more than two episodes but it's good to see that the network appreciates it too. Now maybe it will help all the cancellation fears die down...

Back to You is Fox's best new show. I simply love it and I can't wait until the news is official.

I am really getting into K-ville. I've always liked Anthony Anderson and who knew that the son of a genuine "D" list actor could be so good? Cole Hauser is a big surprise.

I enjoy half of Back To You. That's whenever Heaton, Grammar and Fred Willard are on the screen. Strange when you consider that I'm not a particular fan of Heaton's and I was sick of Frasier at least three seasons before its demise. But with Willard you have three pros who know what they're doing and who can enhance the weaker aspects of the scripts. I think the rest of the cast is weak. The obvious and poor imitation of Chris Farley by Josh Gad is a real turnoff.

With the comfort level set by the more familiar members of the cast and the fact that that hour of Wednesday night offers nothing else in which I have the least bit of interest I imagine I'll probably stick with Back To You for its full run.
