GMA Anchor's Catwalk Strut: Bald, Bold and Beautiful

Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts today strolled down a studio catwalk in a red, sequined Isaac Mizrahi dress, but the moment was more about what she wasn't wearing than what she was: She sashayed without her wig.

The journo, who strutted her stuff for GMA's "I Dare You" segment, has been battling breast cancer and lost her hair during treatment. Roberts' fellow anchors had dared her to try being a model, but removing the wig was her idea. Doing chemotherapy, she said, was "one of the toughest times in my life. The last thing I felt was beautiful." The dare, she added, "was the perfect opportunity for me to really push outside my comfort zone." — Anna Dimond

I only caught the end of it, so I didn't quite know what was going on. I didn't recognize Robin at first, but when I realized who it was, I was so proud for her.

I've never seen her on GMA, but I always respected her abilities when she was on ESPN. Glad to see she's doing as well as she is with her fight.

Dear Robin,
You looked amazing. I admire you for your courage. I am a black female with lupus and have been bald for almost 20 years. I found my first bald spot while in college. Your hair piece is beautiful. I've been trying for years to find affordable wigs that look natural. The highest I ever spent was $625.00 and it didn't last long. If you ever want a good story, try fighting with the insurance companies for reimbursement. I've been given every possible drug for Lupus but nothing related for the cosmetic aspect of this condition. Again congratulation on your bravery.
