The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) today announced nominees and special honorees for its 19th annual Media Awards. ABC leads the field among the networks with nine nominations, with Logo leading the cable networks with five.
Announced from Park City, some of the nominated artists and productions include Across the Universe, ABC's Dirty Sexy Money, Bravo's Work Out, one episode each from Cold Case and Boston Legal and heavyweight 60 Minutes, among others. In addition to the series and movie, GLAAD will be honoring various members of the creative community at several award ceremonies, including celeb photog Herb Ritts, uber-musician Rufus Wainwright and uber-... well, Janet Jackson.
According to the organization, the annual awards "honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the ... LGBT ... community and the issues that affect their lives." — Anna Dimond

This is good news. Perhaps ABC will take advantage of the press and air those three remaining Dirty Sexy Money episodes now? I really don't know why they haven't, especially with Cashmire Mafia doing so horribly in its timeslot.

Hmm, well, I'm straight AND I care. Rufus Wainwright is my favorite singer and I'm excited he's being recognized for his work. Go Rufus!

Wow Alice. Try replacing "gay" with a race or ethnicity, and the true evil and hatred in your statement really shines through. Wow, just wow.

Well Alice I'll be sure not to care when they hand out the KKK or Uber-Wacko-ReligiFreak Bible Thumper Awards.
It's totally fine if you don't care about the GLAAD Awrads. But clearly there is more than you just not caring if you felt the need to post in the thread.

Okay, I think Alice gets the picture, (and if she doesn't, shame on her), but I would like to lighten this up for just a second:
the annual awards "honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the ... LGBT ... community and the issues that affect their lives."
What??? You mean "The L Word" is not a fair and accurate representation of the LGBT?????

At least the-person-who-I-won't-mention-by-name-lest-my-comment-be-removed is being consistent.
Here are her comments about the gay guys on As the World Turns:
"Love between two men or two women is nasty. They can't get someone of the opposite sex so they go to someone of the same sex....Gayness is nastiness. Just imagine where they put their mouths. It's enough to make you puke!"
And then on a recent Katherine Heigl item:
"[Heigl and T.R. Knight] are only famous because he is gay and she likes gays. He makes me want to puke....all over her."
Of course, all of that puking could just be the sanitarium food not agreeing with you.
Interestingly on another thread, she said:
"Charlie [Gibson], Anderson Cooper and Gil Grissom are the most trustworthy people on TV."
Honey, I hate to rock your world, but I might have some very bad news for you regarding at least one of those people......

Melissa, I have to respectfully disagree -- that person does not get the picture -- all she has are the negatives.

Why did that person even bother to read this article? Oh wait, they just commented on it to stir up some sh*t.

And nothing is better for stirring up sh*t than the new Whirl-Poo from Cuisinart!

Ha! Chappy, alicegardner wasn't one of the names I mentioned in that PM a week or so ago, but nevertheless, here we are, out of semi-retirement, at the same time!!
some people are pot-stirrers, and really, shouldn't someone who wants to spend their time stirring a pot of poo just be left to their own sad, empty devices?
