Friday Night Lights Stars Apply for "Super" Roles

Friday Night Lights' Minka Kelly, Adrianne Palicki and Scott Porter are among the host of fresh young faces currently taking part in director George Miller's two-day marathon casting session for Justice League of America, says the Hollywood Reporter. Miller has some 40 up-and-comers on his radar for the comic-book-based film, which is looking to fill the costumes of Superman, Wonder Woman (Jessica Biel "passed"), Batman, Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter.

Others on yesterday and today's short list include Adam Brody (The O.C.), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Grindhouse), Michael Anganaro (Will & Grace), Teresa Palmer (Wolf Creek) and rapper Common.

I really hope this isn't an indication that FNL stars are looking for work (because their show is going to be canceled). Because that's no good.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead ("Death Proof") would be perfect as "Wonder Woman". She has just the right look and demeanor. (And she must be friends with comic-goddess and co-star Rosario Dawson so that ups her cred right.) Plus she also knows Zoe Bell who could be her stunt double.

Oh man, This would be a dream come true for Scott Porter! Good luck to him, Minka, and Adrianne!! And Mary Elizabeth Winstead would be great for Wonder Woman!

Am I the only one who's glad Biel passed on the role? She leaves me cold. I wish all the best for the FNL cast, although I also hope the show isn't in trouble.

When FNL is cancelled in the coming months it looks like the cast will have real soft landings. COngrats to them.

Why are they leaning towards this MTV-type casting, dangit? This is "Justice League" not "Teen Titans"! The only (possible) bright casting I've seen so far is Ryan Reynolds as "Flash"--Adam Brody is another good contender. As for the rest of them, I don't think so!
