Francis Capra Heroes casting news - Today's News: Our Take

Now here's a Heroes newcomer I can get behind — if only because it could offer Veronica Mars fans a very special reunion. Francis Capra, aka the toughie 'Ron (and Mars viewers) loved to hate, is joining the NBC hit this fall in the recurring role of Jesse.

Who or what is Jesse? Not much (including his power) is being revealed, of course, but thus far I've found out two things: One, TV's former Weevil is playing evil, and two, his villainous storyline will find him crossing paths with Peter Petrelli.

Capra's arrival of course promises to reunite him with Veronica herself, Kristen Bell, who is rumored (though not yet confirmed, drat!) to be reprising her own Heroes role this season.

I wish they'd have him play a good guy. Most of the rolls I've seen him on have been the stereo-typical gang member. At least as Weevil he had a good heart.

I must be honest and say that I was going to give up on Heroes.. Season two was just bad... I didn't even like Kristen Bell on it.. (Milo Ventimiglia used to be a favorite actor, and it even ruined him for me a little.) However, I will probably have to stick with it if there could be a possible VM reunion.. I would like to see him cross paths with Peter too... I think the main problem is that there are so many characters, and they don't know what to do with some of them.. They have some talented actors (Jack Coleman and Zachary Quinto easily come to mind), but I don't think they really write enough for their talent.. Season one, though flawed, was really good. Season two fell incredibly flat to me.. (Plus, I've always thought they focused too much on some of my least favorite characters. I'd rather have more Sylar and Peter, who they almost ruined in season two, and less Claire and Hiro.)

Did any VM viewers really love to hate Weevil though? I loved Weevil, and everyone else I know did too...

Now if they could just get Kyle Gallner on the show!

Whee! More VM alumni on Heroes! I miss Veronica Mars. I was just thinking about it today. I should throw my DVD's in this summer. :-P Heroes had better be awesome this season. Ever since that first season finale, I've felt like it hasn't been 'living up to its full potential.'

Absolutely fantastic news! I loved Francis Capra as Weevil on VM and he was great on Criminal Minds and FNL. I have my fingers and toes crossed that Elle and Jesse cross paths more than a few times! Ohhh..and if Elle thinks Jesse is one of her pretty little boy toys, I think my head might explode with glee!

It will be good to see Weevil again. I really liked the character. It broke my heart when he wasn't allowed to walk across the stage at graduation. Now that Moonlight won't be back, wouldn't it be lovely if. . .I dare not even hope. But the fanfiction writers are coming up with some great stories!

Loved to hate Weevil? I flat-out loved him! His underuse was the most criminal part of VM season 3. I'll look forward to seeing him on Heroes, and I'll cross my fingers for some Elle/Jesse scenes.

There were people who loved to hate Weevil? I adored him! So good to Francis Capra back! And now that Moonlight is cancelled find my Jason Dohring something! He was the only reason I watched the god awful Moonlight)

Nobody hates Weevil. Weevil is a character that Veronica and the viewers love to love.

I'd rather have the real thing...Veronica Mars back. And I agree, I'd like to see Capra play a good guy. I loved him as Weevil.

Who loved to hate Weevil?? I had nothing but love for Eli Navarro! I also really didn't care for Heroes, no matter how much I tried, but I will definitely be tuning in again for a VM reunion. Now only if we could find a role for Wallace on the show...
