Fox's Terminator Activated as Prison Takes Its Break
Lena Headey and Thomas Dekker in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles courtesy Fox
Fox at last has given Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles a premiere date: Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at 8 pm/ET. To make room for the big-screen spin-off, Prison Break will serve up a fall-finale cliff-hanger on Dec. 17, then return four months later on April 14. At that point, just as 24 will, the babes-behind-bars drama will air all original episodes into June. — Ben Katner

I am sooo MAD!!! Matt, does Fox do this stuff on purpose?? You know, alienate the crap out of its fans?? Prison Break is already gonna lose viewers due to the death of Sara (not me!) and now they wanna bench it for 4 months – again?! I have never heard of another network doing this with their shows; in that they pull a well-received show off the air just to air something new and hope it gets the exact same ratings. Just like the way they move Bones all over the place! I may be a die-hard fan of shows like PB, Bones, House, Simpsons and 24, but pass it on – I HATE the Fox network.

Great news! I'm really looking forward to Sarah Connor. That'll be only the 2nd show I watch on fox, the other is, of course, Bones.

24 always ends in May, the end of the tv season, is this because of the numerous production delays?

Prison Break is already gonna lose viewers due to the death of Sara
I think it's gonna loose viewers because this season is basically a slight variation of season 1 set in a different location. Been there, done that. It's almost become a chore to watch, which is never a good sign. BTW will someone get Jodi Lyn O'Keefe some acting lessons. She's totally unbelievable in the tough chick role. Very apparent mis-cast there.
Having seen the pilot I think Terminator will do better then Prison Break or at least it should. If the rest of the show keeps up with the pilot it could outpace 24 in time. It's also a better timeslot then the originally proposed sunday at 9pm timeslot where it would have had stiffer competition. Seems like a good move on FOX's part to me.

If it wasn't for the fact I dearly love these shows (LOST and Prison Break) I'd be soooooo happy to dump them and be part of the great hordes that stay away. What are the suits thinking that they can get an audience then just take away a show they are so involved in for months at a time then expect us to all be there when it starts again. The summer hiatus is bad enough but what they are doing with these shows is like another summer hiatus or in some cases like two summers of hiatus back to back! It's ridiculous and when we all get tired of it and quit watching will they wonder where we went and why? Lord this is maddening!!!!

Even though I watch and still-somewhat- enjoy Prison Break, I do wish the show would end, especially since it was originally intended to be two years long, this third year is just stretching things to much. Still exciting, but not as it used to be. Maybe this year PB will wrap up and Sara Connor Chronicles will be its permanent replacement. I'll definitely be tuning in to watch that show come January.

Maybe I watch too many cable shows, but I have no problems with having a hiatus in mid-season or having an extra long hiatus. As long as the episodes we get are quality episodes, I am willing to watch them whenever they air. (Although I'm very eager to find out what happened after the season finales of Lost, Battlestar Galactica, and Burn Notice!)
I actually prefer a long hiatus to having reruns interspersed. While I have finally joined the digital age and have gotten a Tivo (which is smarter than I am and will only record if the episode is new), I still videotape some of my shows, and I hate having to figure out whether shows are repeats or new in non-sweeps months. I've missed episodes before, because I thought they were reruns, and I've also had reruns taped and taking up space because I thought they were new.
I mean, do people really forget what happened in a show when it goes on hiatus? (I'm being serious here, not sarcastic.) I have no problems following it and wonder why others do.
Of course, this is a moot point for me, as I stopped watching Prison Break when Linc found Sara's head in the box.
Although I didn't watch any of the Terminator movies, I think that this looks like an intriguing show, and I will turn in on Monday, January 14th. Thanks for the information!

First Sarah's killed off and now they're putting the show on hiatus. Is Fox actively trying to ruin the show??? It sure seems like and it's funny because the creators only wanted to make two seasons and when it becamne a hit the first season Fox insisted it stayed on longer.

Of course, all this will probably be moot if there's a writer's strike come Novmeber.
