Fox's Drive Finale Rerouted to MySpace Site
A Fox spokesperson tells TVGuide.com that the final two episodes of Tim Minear's Drive — which were originally slated to air July 4, then pushed back to July 13, but ultimately got unceremoniously yanked from the broadcast schedule entirely — are now set to be streamed on MySpace.com/fox and network affiliate sites beginning Monday, July 16.

Blah. It's better than nothing, but it sucks that we won't be able to see it in HD.

I'm pretty irritated that Tim Minear keeps getting such bad treatment from fox. Especially since his shows are actually intelligent. This season has really put me down in the dumps. Almost every halfway decent show I started to watch was cancelled before they could hope to find an audience and yet now I see ads for "Just for laughs" on abc. Do network executives think we're stupid?

blueangel17, it's ironic that you mention "Just For Laughs" right after amhale laments that Canadians can't get to see Drive online. Just For Laughs is a Canadian show (and it's just awful, imo)! We can't see the last two episodes of Drive, yet we're foisting our garbage onto you! What a mixed up, crazy world.

Wow. Talk about going out with a whimper. Once again, a show that deserved better gets shafted by Fox.

I don't want to have to sign up for myspace to watch a great TV show that should have been on the air right along. Any chance they might put what episodes there are on DVD? Network TV executives SUCK. Where are they getting their information on what shows to keep. It seems all the shows I like to watch are cancelled before the story comes close to a conclusion. Is my taste in TV viewing that different from the rest of the world or are they just asking the wrong people? Most of the shows they decide to keep, I don't like or watch. Go figure.

I don't get it don't they have better things to do then keep changing things I have been waiting a longtime to watch the show drive's ending and its just not right that they keep stringing us along like that do they forget if it wasn't for us they wouldn't be where they are today!!! If we do have to watch it on myspace or something like that I don't even know how. Is that fair the should put it on DVD and just let us buy it so we can see the ending!!

I REALLY CAN'T STAND FOX FOR TRASHING Drive AS HARD AS THEY HAVE. NOT ONLY DID THEY CANCEL IT PREMATURELY, BUT THEY'RE DUMPING ON THEIR VIEWERS BY JERKING THEM AROUND SO MUCH WITH EMPTY PROMISES OF A COMEBACK OR A FINAL VIEWING OF THE LAST TWO EPISODES. I've heard SOO MANY different stories about their presentation of the final few recorded episodes... but so far, none of them have come true.
It's so frustrating when you spend the time to get in to a show, only to have it cancelled prematurely. It seems to me, that a show like this could have been wildly popular, and been given a better chance at catching on, just a few years ago. Unfortunately the networks are all pushing for the next BIG thing, and can't deal with a show that takes a little time to build up steam. They all want ratings to match those STUPID, MINDLESS Reality TV shows... but the problem is, when you cater to those same people, you end up with watered down, crappy programming.
Truth be told, FOX has quite a reputation for killing off AMAZING shows. Arrested Development and Firefly are two shining examples of their mind-numbing stupidity.
Once again, THANKS FOR NOTHING, FOX!

The depth of Fox's suctitude is so great, scientists have been forced to develop new forms of measurement.
What do they have against "Drive" that they would give this kind of treatment? First they kill it off after only two fricking weeks, just as the show was getting off the ground. And now they don't even have the decency to pay it its proper respects.
Yet all their reality TV crapfests are still on the air.

This is very wrong!
And these TV execs are still confused why viewership is down.
Many fans were waiting to see the last episodes of DRIVE for closure. But FOX has been making this a habit with many series since Firefly and Wonderfalls (even with a powerhouse like House they pushed back the season finale).
After the rushed Gilmore Girls ending, the ambiguous Veronica Mars ending, Kidnapped and Daybreak dropped on the net, Smith given a "written" synopsis and Traveler just cut - no wonder we fast forward through commerials.
Even channels we PAY for have this attitude evidenced by HBO's treatment of Deadwood, Rome and Carnivale. The Wire is still treated like a secoond class citizen.
Imagine if Showtime had kept the Brotherhood...it would have been the likely successor to the Sopranos.
Anyway, I hope TV Guide posts the synopsis of the final episodes of DRIVE.
Sorry for the rant!

Oh and by the way... What are the network expectations for a summer show anyway?
We are always told that Friday and Saturday has low viewership and that TV on the whole is dead in the summer.
So why don't they air these cult/niche shows then?
What about - Rescue Me, General Hospital Night Shift, Burn Notice, The Closer, Monk, Psych, Entourage, Doctor Who,etc? And Damages and Mad Men is coming.
I think DRIVE would have done fine in this climate, especially on FX on Friday or Saturday.
Most of the cancelled shows I mentioned in my pervious post would have created a DREAM schedule for the summer months.
Let me end my rant before I start on why the networks need to show MORE re-runs (in order) during off months!
