Forest Whitaker May Wear Shield Again

The Barn might not be done with Detective Kavanaugh just yet (or vice versa). Per the Los Angeles Times, in a conference call to talk up his final appearance on The Shield Forest Whitaker said "the possibility is there" for him to return during the FX drama's final season, which starts filming in June. "It's a matter of timing," added Whitaker, who since earning an Oscar as The Last King of Scotland has already lined up at least two films. Indeed, as series creator Shawn Ryan noted, "Forest might be a little popular these days. But nothing is ever impossible."

Don't get me wrong, I love Michael Chiklis and this is absolutely his show but you gotta admit that the moment Forest Whitaker step foot into the barn, the Shield went from "one of those daring FX originals" to a "pulse pounding must-see". Coincidence? I think not.

Furthermore, Forest Whitaker, just like Glenn Close before him, was so good that he actually pushed Michael Chiklis to show even more layers in his performances. And just like Glenn Close, I'd love to see him again in the show's final season. After all, for both of them, in The Shield they may have found their best roles. Oscar, schmoscar.

Why don't they just spin-off Forest Whitaker's character? He is probably one of the most coolest characters on tv right now because it got so many layers. But still Forest just got an Oscar but I hope he doesn't forget where he was before then.
