Fox Announces Fall Premiere Dates
House by Isabella Vosmikova/WireImage.com
Hmm, now this is interesting. Fox's just-released list of fall premiere dates doesn't start off quite the same way it did a few weeks ago at the upfront, when they teased the first few dates. I'll type it up, you discuss.
* Denotes new series
Sept. 1: Prison Break (two hours) Sept. 3: Bones (two hours) Sept. 4: Moment of Truth (two hours) Sept. 5: 5th Grader (two hours) Sept. 6: Cops, America's Most Wanted
Sept. 8: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Sept. 9: Fringe* (two hours) Sept. 10: 'Til Death, Do Not Disturb* Sept. 11: Kitchen Nightmares Sept. 12: Don't Forget the Lyrics Sept. 13: Mad TV, Talkshow with Spike Feresten
Sept. 16: House
Sept. 28: The Simpsons, King of the Hill, Family Guy, American Dad
OK, now that I have typed it up, it's actually not so interesting. They simply pushed the first slew of season openers back a week. — Matt Mitovich

I'll tell you what IS interesting. And by interesting, I mean BAFFLING. Please, oh PLEASE, tell me why Truth and 5th Grader warrant two hour premieres? And then a show like House, one I admittedly don't watch, is only an hour?
Kevin Reilly can try and tell me that it all has to do with simple scheduling and that House debuts a week later blah, blah, blah, but c'mon!

It's interesting that this network has so few shows that I will be watching. Terminator. I might give Fringe a chance. That's about it.
Networks today are making it really hard to be a TV addict.

they moved most shows back a week or 2, maybe just a precaution for the pending actor's strike.....they were the only network starting in August before, now not so much

They give Bones a 2 hour premier, yet regulated the finale to a one hour episode that needed more time to make that plotline plausible... Interesting. But hey who am I to rag when I get 2 full hours of Bones! Still upset that it will be the same nights now as Pushing Daisies, I'm really torn.

Dollhouse is premiering in January.
It SUCKS that House is only getting a one hour premiere.

Bones is produced by 20th Century FOX while House is owned/produced by NBC Universal. TPTB behind House prob weren't willing to make an extra hour without costing FOX big bucks.

Can't believe American Dad made it to another season. The War At Home was much much funnier.

I really wish Sarah Connor was on a different day. There are too many things I want to watch on Mondays.
And WHY oh WHY are there two hour premieres of awful game shows?? If anyone out there is actually going to watch it, can you tell me WHY??

Potch,
I agree with you about Sarah Connor (I'd settle for a different time).
There are 3 shows on at that time that I want to watch and I can only record/watch 2.
I was hoping that they would've kept Prison Break @ 8 as I was ready to dump it over Chuck & Big Bang Theory.

FOX probably already spends a fortune to NBC Universal for 24 episodes of House, so I think it's probably out of the question to do a 2 hour premiere without it costing much more. Fringe seems to be an exception since it's a $10M production for the pilot and it's got JJ Abrams name attached.
It's easier for Prison Break and Bones to get 2 hour premieres since they are both in house productions at 20th TV.

For those lamenting the fact that their fav shows are on at the same time, check the networks website. A lot of the shows can be watched online.

Potch, I will watch The Moment of Truth because it's fun watching the characters have their relationships ruined. I usually don't take pleasure in seeing people's relationships being ruined. But, I don't think these people even deserve to be in a relationship if they've cheated on their partners. Personally, if someone cheated on me, I would want to know, so I enjoy the fact that the partners on this show get to find out that contestants are cheating on them so they can dump them and find a more worthy partner.

While this is true, I hate watching them online. It's just not the same.
