CBS reportedly will announce on Wednesday the pick-up of six new series for the 2008-09 TV season, including no less than four new dramas. Among that bunch are The Ex List (nee The Mythological Ex, a title you knew wasn't going to play in Peoria) starring Grey's Anatomy's Elizabeth Reaser; The Mentalist, starring Simon Baker; Jerry Bruckheimer's Eleventh Hour (in which a science professor advises a government agency; and Harper's Island (a murder mystery set at an island wedding).

CBS two new comedies are Worst Week of My Life, chronicling the days before a young couple's wedding (because Big Day blew the roof off the place) and an untitled laffer starring Jay Mohr as a recent divorce.

As reported earlier by Ausiello, CBS is expected to bring back The Unit and How I Met Your Mother, though Moonlight and Old Christine remain question marks. — MWM

My prediction is that CBS runs comedies on MON and WED and that old Christine returns mid season.

I expect How I Met Your Mother/ Worst Week of My Life to be on WEd w/ Criminal Minds/ Csi:NY.

Mon will be Rules/ Big Bang/2 & a 1/2 Men/untitled laffer starring Jay Mohr as a recent divorce/CSI:MIAMI.

Eleventh Hour sounds like Numb3rs, but with science instead. CBS kind of needs shows OTHER than procedurals - most of the shows they have are great, but they need a bit of variety.

I liked Eleventh Hour on BBC America and I hope that Jerry Bruckheimer will do as well with it. Any chance that Patrick Stewart will reprise that role?:-D

Does Shark even exist?! Why am I not hearing anything about it?! The British version of Worst Week was awful, blah.

I'm so glad Elizabeth Reaser is getting her own show, does that mean her pathetic storyline on Grey's will come to an end?

What does this mean for Jay Mohr and Ghost Whisperer? I really like his "Professor Payne" character and would hate to lose him.

However, it would be a bit understandable because they just had the episode where they crossed his wife over and that would really be the only thing left hanging if he left and they didn't resolve that.

I am very disappointed that CBS has cancelled Moonlight; this I believe one a People's Choice Award for Best New Drama. Why is it that today networks won't give shows a chance unless they have a big name star backing the show. This show is fabulous and had we not had a writers strike and interrupted the season I think more would have been inclined to watch. Move it to a different a day - i.e. Wednesday at 10pm; after Criminal Minds. Come on - give it a chance! Firmcritic

CBS is making a huge mistake cancelling Moonlight. It is a great show. Nick and Beth have wonderful chemistry together. I love the supernatural and the show keeps me coming back for more. The actors are superb. I really looked forward to Friday night. Please CBS, reconsider and don't cancel it.

Well, I am going to have a great time this fall...READING books, since they cancelled Men In Trees, Shark, October Road......I hate to get involved in new shows as they don't last long enough to finish the story!
