Fall 2007: O'Connell Crossing Over to Comedy
The latest pilot-casting bits, from our friends at Variety and the Hollywood Reporter:
Crossing Jordan's Jerry O'Connell, along with Fred Goss (Sons & Daughters) and stand-up comic Jerry Minor, are among ABC's Carpoolers.
Scott Wolf (The Nine Party of Five) has landed the lead in an untitled ABC comedy about a top law firm.
Two-time Six Feet Under Emmy nominee Lauren Ambrose has been cast as Parker Posey's younger sister in Amy Sherman-Palladino's The Return of Jezebel James.
"Varsity Blues: The Later Years"? James Van Der Beek is a rookie in ABC's Football Wives.
Hey, Dean Wormer, get a load of this: Tim Matheson is the head of the university in Barnes, the CW's dramedy about crime-solving college students.
OK, this time I got it right: Jayma Mays, aka Heroes' ill-fated waitress, has come on board the ABC workplace comedy Nice Girls Don't Get the Corner Office.
Josh Hopkins (pre-Rob Lowe Brothers & Sisters) and Molly Parker (Deadwood) are an ex-jock and a housewife in CBS' Swingtown.
Charles Esten (The Office's Josh) is the father of ABC's American Family.
Lastly, which Everwooder has joined O.C. creator Josh Schwartz's latest? Click on over to the Ausiello Report for that scoop!

I'm very excited to see Parker Posey in her own series and it makes it even more exciting to see that Lauren Ambrose will be joining her! I've missed her!!

Jayma Mays, aka Heroes' ill-fated waitress, has come on board the ABC workplace comedy Nice Girls Don't Get the Corner Office.
What do you want to bet that the title will be shortened (Nice Girls or Corner Office) or changed entirely (Workin' Girlz) before (if?) it debuts?
You know, the general public just can't grasp long titles like Nice Girls Don't Get the Corner Office (or so the networks believe).

Cancellation of VM, especially if it is to be replaced by a show so similar (Barnes), will definitely be grounds for giving up the CW!
And those are tough words to say because I love Tim Matheson!

I assume that if the Carpoolers pilot gets greenlit by ABC, then Jerry will be leaving Crossing Jordan...IF it gets renewed for next season.
What happened with James Van Der Beek? Varsity Blues was a pretty decent hit for him, and I thought he'd be able to cross into films, but since Dawson ended he's been MIA. Hope he's good in Football Wives.
Why is CW retreading on what they already have? Methinks they have not a clue what they are doing over there. They'd just better keep Supernatural going, or I'm seriously gonna be pissed!
The rest of this list (Except for Jayma Mays show, and only because of her) does nothing for me.

Amen to CW alrady having a show w/ a student detective and I'll never watch the network again that canceled Everwood and may cancel VM for a Tim Matheson TIME BOMB. Dont know about y'all but I LOVE the BBC version of Footballers Wive$-tis excellent, but James Van Der Beek as a "ROOKIE", did he get hair plugs since he was on Dawson's? Cuz the boy was going bald his "sophmore" year of highschool on that show-seriously. Am I supposed to believe he is young enough to be a rookie player? What did he do and to whom did he do it, to get this job?????

James Van der Beek was the bad guy on the superbowl two parter of Criminal Minds. He did a very good job at portraying the multi personality ridden psycho.
