Exclusive: Ugly Betty Taps Pretty Hunky Mark Consuelos - Today's News: Our Take

Some of the whitest teeth the good lord ever put into a human mouth will be sparkling on ABC's Ugly Betty. Sources tell me exclusively that Mark Consuelos, the former MISSING star who gets to call supercool Kelly Ripa his wife, will guest-star on this season's third episode.

This is where it gets... interesting. Despite my best efforts, no one is budging as to who Mark is playing or who he will share scenes with. All I have been able to suss out is that he'll be filming on the "Mode" set, and that his character's arrival plays into a major story arc.

Betty fans, I invite you to speculate away. Just know that thus far, Consuelos is booked for only a single appearance. Though that could change. Ugly Betty returns Sept. 25.

Mark, who met his Mrs. when they played lovebirds on All My Children, next can be seen in the Hallmark Channel original For the Love of Grace, premiering Aug. 30. — Matt Mitovich

This is great news. Kinda weird that they're being so hush-hush on his character. *thinks* It can't possibly be another love interest can it? I mean seriously, Hilda and Betty both have numerous ones so I doubt it.

But being at Mode must mean he's doing something with the magazine. (no kidding!) So maybe he's working with Amanda or Marc? Or *shudders* Wilhelmina? Say it ain't so!

Only a single appearance? Hopefully they will extend it

Oh well, I'm excited for Ugly Betty to return

i love this news cuz i love consuelos. i think he loses on roles cuz he's short but he is so cool and smooth and ultra hot, i don't care. i'd love to see him on dancing with the stars too. and he's a great host.

Hmmm, perhaps a love interest for Amanda? I can see it. I like Mark Consuelos and would love to see him stick around on Ugly Betty.

I love Mark. He should have his own show and not just guest appearances. He is classy, talented and too hot. I will be watching for him on Ugly Betty and the Hallmark movie. Kelly is soo lucky!

Ever since his days on "All My Children," I have never understood why he is so "hot." I just don't see it...also don't see it in either Rob Lowe or Tom Cruise... But I'm a huge "Ugly Betty" fan and can't wait for the new season to start!
