Hmm, maybe losing one's sibling to the eternal fires of Hades ain't the absolute worst thing in the world? I mean, just look at the sympathy cuddling! Wildfire spitfire Genevieve Cortese has been cast on the CW's Supernatural in the role of Kristy, a small-town waitress who gets romantically involved with Jared Padalecki's Sam sometime after the brooder's brother Dean's death.

Thus far, Cortese is slated to at least appear in the Season 4 premiere, airing Sept. 18. — Matt Mitovich

But she was terrible in Wildfire. The casting people on this show really need to think outside the box when it comes to casting these things. Dean gets sent to hell and Sam doesn't even wait until the body is cold to start sexing up a waitress?

I have to believe this is a trick and she's actually someone he's working with for another reason, maybe Ruby's new meat suit, and they are using the romantic angle as a cover story.

How do you know that they aren't going to jump ahead 3 or 6 months after his death? I highly doubt it is going to pick up right where it left off. I'd guess 2 or 3 months minimum.

I had the misfortune of seeing Wildfire - she's a fairly sucky actress (at least, she was on that show). The only thing she has going for her is that she doesn't look like a demon Barbie. And with all the storylines going on, to have Sam shacking up with a waitress while Dean's in Hell? Nice, Kripke - I can tell you've really learned your lessons about how well T&A goes over on this show. Way to make things meaningful.

I don't understand why everyone's getting so annoyed about Sam getting some. Dean got booty all the time and no one cared. If this picks up a couple months later and Sam's been trying to find a way to bring Dean back why shouldn't he be getting some on the side. Plus the last thing Dean wanted at the end was Sam to save him, so I think everyone needs to cool down till we see what's really going on. This could be Ruby's new body or someone who Sam found that can get Dean out of hell. I think its so easy to be negative, why not just see how it goes first.

Actually the season premiere takes place 4 months after Dean's death.

I like Gen. Maybe she'll do better on Supernatural acting wise then she did on Wildfire. As much as I liked Wildfire, it did have some cheesy @ss lines and the actors did the best they could with what they got. I say she deserves a chance before the (female) fans write her off.

DarcyEW - there's a big difference between Dean getting some "booty" when he and Sam are travelling the roads, and Sam getting "booty" when Dean has been dead and is being tortured in Hell for about 4 months.

Listless Agent - I don't know why you felt the need to insert the word "(female)" because I know plenty of guys who didn't like Ruby or Bela, so I think it's wrong to make such an overgeneralization. Also, Kripke/the show has a bad track record when it comes to recurring female characters, so people are allowed their opinions, whether they be negative or wary.

I wish people wouldn't prejudge characters and slam episodes and storylines that haven't even been seen yet. The negative aspects of this fandom keep me very, very far away from most fan sites because I can't stand the wank.

That said, I love Supernatural and am looking forward eagerly to the premiere of season four.

Wow, what a shock...fangirls screeching about a new female character based on limited information and massive negative assumptions. And attacking the actress in the process.

Because we've never seen that before. Every season.

And then they wonder why potential new viewers are turned off when they hear about the fandom...

Knowing Sam's track record with women, I sure hope she gets to survive more than one episode! Sam deserves something good to happen when it comes to the women in his life! And I just don't think he does 'alone' terribly well, so this makes sense to me.

I never watched Wildfire so I know nothing about the actress but I'm open to the possibilities involved with the character, if she's written well.

entil - "attacking the actress"? I didn't see anyone attacking the actress, I just see people giving their opinions of her acting. If people have seen "Wildfire" and didn't think she did a good job, people are allowed to state those opinions.

What's with people putting other posters down for stating their opinions? So what if people say negative things? It's their opinions...just like it's your opinion that you're posting.

I don't know the actress and I don't care about the character...Kripke/The CW and T&A...whatever. What I want to know is who is being cast for the role of "Castiel". I think that character is going to rock!

I agree with Mary.... let's give it a chance here. I think the point we're trying to make is that some people immediately fly off the handle and think the worst. Yes it's their opinion, but calm down and see how it plays out before you get all upset. If after you see it and still hate it, then you can be ticked off. But we have no idea what storyline is going to be going on here.

And as far as saying that Sam shouldn't/wouldn't be interested in getting some because Dean is in Hell- haven't you ever heard of using a relationship to fill a void in other parts of your life? It happens. Just wait and see what's in store. We don't even know how many episodes she will be in.

impala4me, I meant to say "fangirls". :-D As a woman, their antics are getting a bit ridiculous.

SPNfan, I'm going to kick myself for this, but who the heck is Castiel?! The name itself is making me excited.

I can't wait for season 4. I'm not too concerned about this "love interest" because we all know what Kripke & Co. do to Sammy's lady friends. If Sera is writing any of the episodes that the Kristy character appears in, then she (Kristy) is in for some rough times.

I just wish we could see Sarah (Provenance) again. I really liked her.
