The Closer Exclusive: Is Starsky a Killer?

Sources tell me exclusively that Paul Michael Glaser has been tapped to guest-star on TNT's The Closer this season, in the July 21 episode.

The set-up: When a recently paroled murderer is found dead in an alley, the parents of the girl he previously killed wind up in Brenda Leigh's sights. Glaser plays the dad, while Amy Aquino (aka ER's Dr. Janet Coburn) is the mom.

The Closer, of course, is known for enlisting some of the best (if not "garden variety") guest stars in the biz and giving them gold to work with. Not only am I anxious to see what PMG does here, but I can also see Aquino keeping us guessing every step of the way as well. The Season 4 premiere, on July 14, can't get here soon enough. — Matt Mitovich

He sold his copyright for a mess of pottage--I mean a bottle of Diet Raspberry Snapple & a mint Smurfette doll in the original box!

I had the biggest crush on PMG back in the 70s!! Then he became a director and disappeared from the screen. It's good to see him in front of the camera again, and he still looks good!

I cannot wait for the premiere of the Closer. My only hope is that, since it is starting later in the summer than last years June premeire, we will not be jipped out of any episodes......It's hard enough waiting all year for the show as it is!!!! Thank goodness the powers that be have enough sense to give us a little taste in December to help get us through until the new season begins. I hope they continue with that!!

While Paul Michael will be an interesting addition to the show, I'd also like to second the comments from Matt - I'm excited to see Amy Aquino on the show. I've been a fan of hers since her days on "Brooklyn Bridge" and think she is capable of pulling off just about any kind of acting gig. It will be good to see her come up against Brenda and crew.

I'm psyched for "The Closer" to come back - it, and "Army Wives" are about my two favorite summer shows!
