Weeds

Outstanding Drama Series Finalists

Boston Legal's continued Emmy recognition is as inexplicable as ever, but not a shocker at this point. (It isn't a terrible show, but come on -- really?!?)

But, Family Guy? Are they serious? For the love of God, who laughs at that toked-up-frat-boy swill? Actually, I guess I just answered my own question.

The eternally snubbed "Battlestar Galactica" continues to be ignored, albeit for an underwhelming season. I had also hoped for more love for AMC's other cutting edge drama "Breaking Bad." I agree about "Boston Legal." If James Spader wins again this year against the likes of Michael C. Hall and Jon Hamm I'll scream. Another surprise, though not as infuriating to me, is that "Desperate Housewives" didn't even make the top ten for this, it's so-called renaissance season. And "Family Guy" did? Weird. Way to go "Pushing Daisies," "30 Rock," "Damages," "Dexter," "Mad Men," and "Friday Night Lights"!

Go Friday Night Lights!

*cartwheel*
(Yes, I can still do one. I think.)

I'm thrilled for the likes of "Friday Night Lights" and "Pushing Daisies."

But what does "How I Met Your Mother" have to do, already?

It's great to see Family Guy make the Top 10. Believe it or not, there are millions of us that think this show is hilarious, and no, we're not "frat boys."

But I don't want it to win. It might be funny, but it's nothing compared to 30 Rock, The Office, or Pushing Daisies.

As for Drama, go Dexter!

The rest were kind of no brainers, the big pleasant surprise was Flight of the Conchords which I think was the best thing HBO had on this past post-Sopranos season (yes, even better than Big Love Season 2).

I think that Chuck deserved to be there over Family Guy. Heck, so did Scrubs and Aliens in America (and I didn't even watch the latter, but I heard good stuff about it, and had thought to catch up over the summer. *sigh*)

I'm glad to see The Wire make the list. Academy, this is your last chance to make up for past mistakes. All those other shows can live to fight another day.

Hooray FOTC! Hard to choose between that and 30 Rock for me.

But no BSG - really? What do they have to do to get recognition? Sure, not the best season overall, but it still blows every other show on the air out of the water on its worst day.

This is good news. Im rooting for Comedy: The Office, Pushing daisies, 30 Rock, Betty and Weeds.

Drama: Greys, House Lost, Mad Men, The Wire.

The Wire....wow. Im happy that its finally on their radar. I'll dance in my underwear outside when the show is nominated..:-D Curb Your Enthusiasm...when was the last time that show as on? It seems like 2 years ago. And shouldn't Family Guy be in the Animated Series category?

I think Pushing Daises should win followed by Two And A Half Men, and Flight Of The Conchords.

As for Drama, I say Dexter then Lost, and then House.

Pretty good choices for both categories, but I think I have to go with Pushing Daises for the comedy and Dexter for the drama.

Damages and 30 Rock!!!

If you haven't seen Damages yet, go out and buy the DVD and you'll see why it's gonna kick a** at the EMMYs.
