How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris will team with Pushing Daisies' Kristin Chenoweth to announce the nominees for the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards.

The duo will be joined by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences' chairman and CEO John Shaffner to make the announcements on July 17 at 8:40 am/ET. The statues themselves will be handed out Sept. 21 on ABC.

You know who we are pulling for, but what names are you dying to hear Barney and Olive call? — Adam Bryant

The Wire for anything, and I seriously mean anything. I've quite simply never seen a show of such high quality ignored on such a profound level. What does it say that most of us probably won't be surprised if the show doesn't receive a single nomination?

Who cares about the Emmy?

They lost touch with the average viewers.

My guess is that they will ignore BSG, FNL, and many others.

Their own! Both are well-deserving this season for supporting actor/actress. Although, I would settle for hearing them sing, just once!

I've lost most of my interest in the Emmy's. I might get some back if they announce their own names and Matthew Fox. There are others that would help like BSG. I am not holding my breath.

I can just see it now:

CHENOWETH: "And the nominees for Outstanding Performance By An Actress in a Supporting Role in a Drama are . . ."

NPH: "Katherine Heigl, Grey's Anatomy."

(nervous laughter from the entertainment press corps.)

NPH: "Oh come on. You know I was going to say it!"

Their own!

Damn straight, they both deserve it.

The Emmys are notoriously out of touch with reality, but it's always a nice surprise when someone who deserves it actually gets recognized.

I hope they're presenting because there's lots of love for HIMYM and Pushing Daisies and not because they're throwing them a bone now since the shows got NO love.

Then again it IS the Emmys. They don't really mean anything anymore.

Somebody, anybody from Friday Night Lights. Or BSG.

Now that Ausiello has jumped ship, can you maybe re-do your list of hopefuls? 'Cause frankly, a lot of them are pretty stupid.

I want to hear "The Office" repeatedly (which TV Guide completely ignored).

Can they call their own name? Would that be weird? Is that possible? Or does this mean that that they're not in the running for an Emmy? Especially NPH. Love. Him.

Can they call their own name? Would that be weird? Is that possible? Announcers have frequently been nominated in the year they are announcing ... you'll notice the man always announces the female categories and vice versa.

I'd really like to see nods for "Mad Men," "30 Rock," "Pushing Daisies," "Lost," Jon Hamm, January Jones, Alec Baldwin, Chi McBride, Matthew Fox, Vanessa Williams, Sally Field, Glenn Close, Neil Patrick Harris and -- a girl can dream -- Donald Faison.

I would like to see a nod or two for "Eli Stone," too, but I know it's a dark horse.

Go Pushing Daisies, I'm crossing my fingers NPH will announce KC's nomination.
