Elizabeth Berkley's CSI: Miami Stay Has Got Legs

David Caruso and Elizabeth Berkley in CSI: Miami by Ron P. Jaffee/CBS
If you thought H's hellion of an ex-lover was walking off into the sunset, think again. Elizabeth Berkley, while making the rounds to promote Bravo's Step It Up & Dance (premiering tonight at 11 pm/ET, before moving to 10 o'clock next week), let slip to TVGuide.com that she in fact has "many more" CSI: Miami appearances ahead of her. Or, as she teased with a wicked grin, "Things are just getting started" when it comes to the havoc Julia Winston will wreak on her lawman ex. I'm getting the unsettling vibe that she may dare to tamper with his Ray-ban collection! Hussy.

CSI: Miami, it should be reminded, returned to boffo ratings these past two weeks, and in this past Tuesday's special airing gave CBS its best numbers in that 10 o'clock slot in some five years. Do not underestimate the power of the Jesse Spano fan. — MWM

That so many people watch "CSI: Anime" makes me weep. Unless they're watching it in order to play a drinking game. I endured this week's twofer, and was stunned by the horrible dialogue and plotting, not to mention the insanely busy visual effects. And the acting ... When your dialogue is 100% expositional, do we still call it acting? (David Kabuki remains in a class by himself. Unfortunately, the class is not detention.)

OMG that two parter was just so awful. Ditto to everything Jon said. The ex-wife turns Horatio in for the murder in Brazil, he is extradited to Brazil, kills a gang of thugs and gets back to Miami seemingly all in one day. And the former CSI sets up a whole website that gets all those hits and allows the two poker guys to plot a kidnapping all in the same day. UGH!!!

What I don't get is...Berkley's character when first introduced pre-Writers' Strike (And she's Horatio's ex-lover, not ex-wife), it was CLEAR she was involved in what happened to the woman who was dragged out of the pond.

Now, it's being made to look as if she's a scairt wittle girl, who is being abused and controlled by her ex-accomplice/lover, who is now living with her again. BAH! And I suppose it's NECESSARY to show her boobs practically falling out of every dress she wears? I could do without that visual, thank you very much.

And jon88: ITA with your assessment about this week's double episode.

jon: The operative phrase that you use regarding CSI: Horatio!!!!1!1!!!11! is "drinking game."

Yes, the show is a camp classic. There is absolutely no other reason for the show's continued existence, much less ratings success. When you watch the show, turn off your mind, relax and float downstream. It is not dying anytime soon. ;)

Is that a real picture or a composite? I can't tell who is in front of whom.

I am so sorry today that CSI:Miami has lost me as a fan forever...when I saw that Elizabeth Berkeley was cast as Horatio's ex-lover, I just about lost it...I'm sure the powers that be could have found a much better choice than scraping the barrel only to let Ms. Berekley resurface from some cave. CSI:Miami - what the heck happended to you? David Caruso - I stayed a fan of his after his major meltdown years ago - hoping he would find his way back - he did - at least for a little while...instead you have let them make you this caricature of a marketing tool for ray-ban glasses and open-at-the-neck blue shirts....I'll miss you!!!

I agree with monidj. I was a huge David fan through NYPD Blue, through his ego and even some of his movies.

Season 1 and 2 are the only ones I own, I haven't seen an eppy after except for the Zombie!Speed return. I miss the old days, although I still do like David, I wouldn't watch Miami for him.

Well..unless they bring Speed back. Then they can have all the helicoper vs machine gun toting Hummer's they want and i'd still tune in.

Okay this is CSI:Miami people. It is a fun hour escape. The whole everything happened in one day thing annoyed me too but it's TV. I don't know why you expect the show to be realstic. Of all the CSI franchises Miami has always been the one that is over the top in everything that it does. Who cares? Either watch the show and accept it or don't watch. It's really that simple. You claim to dislike the show yet you are obviously watching it!

P.S. Elizabeth Berkley really needs to put her boobs back in her shirt (esp when she is shopping with Kyle!)

i do watch mi-hammy csi regularly but certainly not for scientific edification. let's be honest, like its predecessor miami vice, the csi version is all eye candy, vivid colors, fast action, choppy dialogue and editing. it is what it is. i mean, emily "gun-girl" procter routinely shows up at crime scenes in high heels and business suits.
that all being said, i do wonder why in all the csi shows. even in broad daylight the techs run around the crime scenes waving their mini flahlights. lol

The two parter of CSI MIami was total genius. I loved the story they gave Calleigh and Emily Proctor acted great. CSI is such a fun show to watch! It is so entertaining. I love Elizabeth Berkely in the role of Horatio's ex. It totally works. CSI Miami makes its ridiculousness entertaining unlike Grey's Anatomy which totally fails to be great drama or CSI Miami like whacked out genius!!

All I could think Monday night was what an awful actress she is. Most people in the amateur theatre groups in my area are a lot better. Why are they having her back?

What amazes me is that it took you people this many years to realize how horrible CSI Miami is.

It's in its sixth season guys!!! Were you expecting a miracle or what?

:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Jtoo:"All I could think Monday night was what an awful actress she is. Most people in the amateur theatre groups in my area are a lot better. Why are they having her back?"

==>I've been asking that since we first found out that EB was set to play this role, right before the strike. Not only can she NOT act, she looks horrible--not to be mean, but her hair? looks like a wig--as if she's bald underneath. {shudder} They couldn't find anyone better to play this role?

tamara:"It's in its sixth season guys!!! Were you expecting a miracle or what?"

Why yes, I think I was, lol.

Sometimes i find csi miami enjoyable. Its campy, it has H's classic one liner in the beginning and I LOVE the scenery shots. :) lol
EB is kinda scary, I guess since she guested on L&O CI, she must be able to act or something. I also found it really distracting about her eyes (her actual eyes lol) I never knew they were 2 different colors!

I have to say though, the kid playing Kyle is soooooooooo much better then the previous one.
