Drew Barrymore and Justin Long Split Up

Drew Barrymore and Justin Long have split up. The seemingly inseparable pair of actors (Long being most recognizable for his Mac/PC ads) have parted ways, Barrymore's rep confirms, after almost a year of dating.

Following an initial public outing together last August, the two became practically attached at the hip, at least in the public eye, with paparazzi following them on their evening excursions, local L.A. hikes and more. Since becoming an item, the two have celebrated holidays and birthdays together, met each others' families, hit the town in Vegas and, as the final seal of official coupledom, appeared together on Oprah.

Apart from confirming the split, Barrymore's rep had no other comments. Sad news for one of our fave Hollywood ladies! — Anna Dimond

Sigh... I really wish they'd made it work for them, but I didn't have a lot of hope.

Drew just isn't known as someone who follows thru on relationships. I like her, and I like Justin, too. I really like Justin's MAC commercials. I hope he goes forward with them.

I hope in the future Drew can find someone who she can "fit" with. I wish her the best happiness.

In related news, Barrymore has been seen canoodling with John Hodgman at the Ivy. Said Barrymore, "PCs are nice, sturdy and come with lots and lots of protection from soooo many viruses."

-- Rob -- notes that she added, "When I want plug and play, I have my Rabbit."

They seemed like a cute couple.
One day, I hope Drew can find happiness that seems to have eluded her thus far.
Yes, she's rich and famous, but she's gone through a lot (much of her own doing) but she seems like a decent person.

*groans* Here I was, ready to make a snarky comment about the PC guy finally pulling one over on the Mac guy, and not only does Rob beat me to it, he ends with one of the funniest lines I've seen all morning!

Seriously, poor Drew - she's overcome a lot, and yet she can't find someone that can handle her. I too hope she finds someone that can make her happy (as long as his name isn't Tom Green).

I think it's sad that you say Justin Long is best known for those stupid mac commercials. When I think of him, the first things that pop in my head are Warren Cheswick on Ed and as Barnaby Gaines on Accepted. He was also in die hard 4 and the jeepers creepers movies(which I haven't seen). He was in Dodgeball, too.

I really had my fingers crossed for them.
Damn it...

Justin better go for a checkup. Statistics show that splitting up with Drew Barrymore can lead to testicular cancer.

Dear Drew...

To quote Richard Marx..."I'll be right here waiting for you..."

There is no poing in feeling sorry for Drew Barrymore, she needs major amounts of counseling. She will never be happy with anyone else until she learns that happiness comes from the inside. She is following in her family's dependancy issues, just this time not drugs or alcohol but broken relationships with men

I don't know if I'd go that far, maria. She seems very well-adjusted in her adult years, to me. Maybe she's just not looking for a long-term relationship. There are plenty of us out here who aren't. ;)

I think Justin may be finally hitting his stride in the biz while Drew has been at this for a long time. My guess is he wants to play and she's ready to settle down.

No one can make another person happy long term. It is a choice and something that you make yourself. I feel sorry for Drew. She's got ancestral baggage to carry.
