Double O' My! Rosie to Make Fox News?

Having done morning TV both solo and among a group, new buzz suggests that Rosie O'Donnell might follow up her Viewing with a gig on a cable news outlet — perhaps even Fox News Channel. That's what the New York Daily News is hearing, though frankly it's deemed a long shot as it would put Ro too close to the spin zone of her arch nemesis, Bill O'Reilly. But if she can't join them, maybe she'll beat them? As Professor Robert J. Thompson of Syracuse U.'s Center for Television and Popular Culture tells the News, "If I were MSNBC, I would really be courting [Rosie] to go up against O'Reilly. For so long, they've been looking for a different perspective." Ro's rep maintains that a decision on her next move has yet to be made.

If she's on a NEWS channel, will they at least make sure she gets basic facts right? You know, that fire does actually melt steel, since that's kind of how it's made in the first place. Or that Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez is in the executive branch, not 'head of the judicial branch.'

I highly doubt that Rosie will go over to Fox news. Shae hates Fox news with a passion. But if she goes to MSNBC that might not be bad......I still wont watch it though.

MSNBC already has Keith Olbermann, who is far better at getting O'Reily's goat, AND he manages to be factually accurate (I agree with most of Rosie's politics, I disagree with how she often chooses to sell those politics because she's often mis-informed and it makes our whole side look bad...even though I still love her)...plus the last time they tried to steal someone away from Fox News, they wound up with the whole disaster that was Rita Cosby.

Fox would never take her though -- I mean, they have Greta and Kimberly Guilfoil as it is (and they relegate them to like once a week gigs), that's two liberals, two women...Brit Hume and Sean Hannity would implode if Rosie came aboard. And as much as I'd like to see that, I don't see it happening.

Honestly, Headline News is the only place I can see her. It would fit in with their primetime theme, she would be a good follow-up/catalyst to Nancy Grace (though they probably agree on more issues than they disagree with) and CNN definitely has the money to pay her (not sure if MSNBC does).

What about putting Bill and Rosie together on the SAME show? You'd have "Xtreme Point/Counterpoint"! :-D

Oooohh, I would love for Rosie to go on MSNBC or CNN and crash and burn in the ratings against FOX.

Why would A N Y real NEWS channel want this woman on?

She is NOT a news person. Repeat, NOT A NEWS PERSON.

She used to be a funny and talented comedienne. Once. Now she is just a shrill, obnoxious woman who's so far removed from civil discourse it isn't funny.

Please, GOD, don't provide her a regular outlet on a NEWS channel. Please ??

I would love for Rosie to end up on Fox News, she is just as ignorant, uninformed and obnoxious as the rest of their so-called "news" programs and stories.

Why have Rosie on ANY show where she can spew her inaccurate, obnoxious comments. She has gone round the bend from when she had her own show where even though she wasn't being herself, she was at least watchable. I enjoyed her show then, I don't enjoy cannot tolerate her now. Stay home with the kids, Rosie, you've done your time.

Rosie is a good polarizer, nothing more.

Perhaps Lakhawk, you need to get your facts right, before you diss Ro, who knows what she is talking about. Steel melts at 2750 degrees F and jet fuel can only burn at 1500F max, thus, that fire was NOT hot enough to melt steel.

I hope Rosie does do a news show and reveals the truth about what's really going on in the world for a change. It would be the FIRST news program that actually does. The American people are so brainwashed by the government controlled media and are so stubborn, they refuse to hear truth or research evidence, but have no problem spouting off their ignorance.
