Dina Lohan's Stamp of Approval: LiLo's Pics Are "Art"
Lindsay Lohan's mother Dina has given her daughter's semi-nude photo spread her stamp of approval, People says. "It was very tastefully done," the elder Lohan said.
The photos are a re-creation of a 1962 shoot that Bert Stern did of Marilyn Monroe. Describing them, Dina said, "I respect the photographer as an artist, so I look at them artistically. For him to call... is an honor. I looked at it as art, and as Lindsay doing a character. So I don't look at them like it's Playboy; she was being a character. So if you look at it that way, you can look at it as a mother."
Dina Lohan also commented on just how excited 21-year-old Lindsay was to get the call to be in the shoot. Linds apparently said, "Mommy, I'm never going to get this opportunity to do it again." I beg to differ with Miss Lohan: After this shoot, getting another op probably won't be a problem. — Anna Dimond

After reading this stamp of approval from Mommy Dearest, that clicking sound you hear are my eyeballs rolling in my head.

The last desperate act to remain relevant. Pathetic.

And this pretty much is the entire problem in a nutshell.
She may claim she loks at this as "art" but what she really sees are $$$.
And Lindsay, you are 21...time to drop the "mommy" thing.

If Dina approves, you know it's a bad idea.

I know Bert Stern is an artist. But I've looked at the lay out a few times and even with friends, including two art students, for what that's worth, and the general consensus is - either he's lost his touch, or he intentionally wanted Lindsey Lohan to look bad to prove the eternal beauty of Marilyn Monroe.
Lilo has a great body, but she's slouching in some pictures, the lighting, the hair and make up just don't work with her coloring - geez, in one picture her teeth look grey - there was just something about the pics that came across as jarring. There was a flow to the Marilyn Monroe pics that I just didn't see here - maybe that's what happens when you try to recreate something that was originally so spontaneous?
I really don't know of many of today's actresses who could have pulled this off under the same circumstances, actually.

ctheslayer ~ You know I am wondering the same thing. It's like he was trying to make her look bad. And it worked!
LL just gets more pathetic all the time.

And this article just proves that it's (at least partly) from a lack of proper mothering. If Dina had two marbles in her head, she'd have talked her daughter out of it, or at least given her a lot to think about, rather than just enabling her. Parents are there to give guidance, not to rubber stamp youthful decisions.

Personally, Lindsay's body did not look good. Her skin was not a good color and her butt was bony. On one picture you could see the wig line and her eye makeup looked bad. I don't object to the photos just that she didn't look voluptuous like Marilyn.

I'm wondering about his intention as well. In the previous article he mentioned that he was fascinated with "celebrutantes," and I wonder if was making a statement about how their delusions of grandeur will always fall flat. Like, they can pretend all they want, but they will never have "IT."
