To (Almost) Die For?: Nicole Kidman In On-set Car Crash
Nicole Kidman and three other actors, including 10-year-old Jackson Bond — whose credits, I must note, include In Case of Emergency and the "Collision" episode of CSI: Miami — were involved in a car accident on the set of the film Invasion, shortly after midnight Wednesday in downtown Los Angeles. According to Extra, which will have more on the incident this evening, everything was going well with a vehicular stunt until the third attempt, when the Jaguar spun out of control and crashed into a light pole at about 45 mph.
Sources tell Us that Kidman was taken to Cedars Sinai Medical Center, released within two hours, and resumed filming later in the night. And that, folks, is why Nic is filmdom's highest-paid working actress.
UPDATE: The Associated Press' accounting suggests that Kidman was in the car with a stunt person, and perhaps not Jackson Bond. An official statement from Warner Bros. is expected Thursday afternoon.

Yikes, Matt! Way to freak me out with that headline. BTW, Invasion sounds an awful lot like the premise of Threshold to me.

They're still filming Invasion? Wow. They were filming that in and around my city (Baltimore) over a year ago. What kind of budget does this thing have?
I'm glad she's OK.

Wasn't there a TV show called Invasion?
I'm wondering why the ten-year-old is up at midnight. They can't film earlier?

I would imagine there is much less traffic in downtown Los Angeles at midnight as opposed to "earlier". Clearing the streets to create movie scenes is tough enough without having to do it when there are people/cars all over the place.

There was and it still irritates me that it was ended too soon.
Glad she's okay, NIc is one of my favorites.

Invasion (the TV show) was great!
I don't want to be one of those people who constantly whines about how all their (usually lousy and low-rated) shows have been cancelled, but Invasion was GREAT!
It was a well done show and the ratings were good enough (in my opinion) to merit a second season.
The word-of-mouth support was there -- they just needed to give it time to bear fruit.
I think if they had renewed it, and then rerun the first season and released it on DVD during the summer, ratings would have gone up in the second season.
Cancelling Invasion is one of ABC's biggest mistakes of recent memory.
Wait...what was the topic of this thread again?
Oh, yeah -- ummm...watch out for light poles, kids!
