Deal or No Deal Overexposed? Exec Not Worried

NBC Universal has cleared for next fall a syndicated weekday version of Deal or No Deal, with Howie Mandel on board to perform double duty as host. Tweaks to the half-hour daytime edition include a $250,000 prize cap and faster-paced, self-contained episodes. Asked about the possibility of Millionaire-esque ubiquity, the president of NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution tells the Reporter, "We waited... to make sure the show was going to hold up, and it clearly has. [So] there's really no fear about overexposure." 'Cept when it comes to the models' skimpy dresses.

Yes, the show is over-done. ABC did the same thing with Who Wants to be a Millionaire

I don't know if it will be overexposed but I do know that I don't watch as often due to the circus-like atmosphere it has become. Too much nonsense going on. It's gone over the top.

I quit watching the show because of the over-excited guests, jumping around, screaming, etc. I agree !00% with rosalia.

We like the show, but we record it on the DVR and fast forward through a lot of the excessive talking and "over excitement". The hour show can be watched in 15-20 minutes.

I love the show, but I quickly push the "mute" button when a screamer comes on! I don't understand why people have to shreek at the top of their lungs because they're excited!

I watched the first few episodes when this came on, then I started watching it in fast forward on a VCR, but now it is so dragged out it's unwatchable

We too agree that it has become a "circus". We don't enjoy the yelling and screaming by contestants and the "over talking" done to fill in the time. It was great at first. Now we don't watch it at all.

I wrote TV guide before complaining about the latest game shows. I feel the contestents are coached into acting like screaming fools. THis show in particular feels too gimicky. The coach who shakes his butt, the woman who 'shoots' with her pistol fingers...and so on. Oh, and don't forget grandma who hasn't been out of the house for 50 years has been flown in for the show. It was surprising at first, now its a gimick. If they normalized it a bit, I would watch it again.

I have to agree with pretty much everybody here. We used to tape it and watch it in about ten minutes ~ Then even that got old. I was sick of the over the top contestants too. Haven't watched it in a while.
