Daytime-talk Talk, Eureka and More Short Cuts

Warner Bros. syndicated division has cleared a fall 2008 daytime talker to be hosted by actress-comedian Bonnie Hunt. The Reporter also reports deal extensions for Ellen (through 2011) and Extra (through 2012).... Sci Fi Channel has ordered a third season of Eureka, to launch in summer '08, and a second round of Destination Truth.... Showtime has erected or modified fountains in 14 U.S cities, including in Times Square and Hollywood & Highland, to flow red, promoting the Season 2 premiere of Dexter. The cabler, though, insists the color choice is to match its logo, not to symbolize blood. Uh-huh. Tell it to Doakes.

I just discovered Eureka in the past few weeks and love it! I'm very glad to hear it's been renewed.

I love Eureka! It's such a joy to watch, and I'm thrilled it gets a third season. Now why can't Sci Fi's OTHER original series have been so good?

My favorite SciFi show didn't make it to a second season. I'm not even sure it made it all the way through the first season. Does anyone remember The Chronicle? It was about a tabloid that reported freaky things (like vampires and monsters and stuff) that were actually true. Rena Sofer was one of the stars.

And Farscape wasn't bad. :^O

Bonnie Hunt! Congrats on her new talk show, but she totally deserves to be back on primetime.

I have never been happier than reading both about Eureka and Destination Truth. Two of my five favs from Sci Fi. Eureka is my only must see in the summer and Destination Truth was soooo good on it's short run. I'm excited!! Thank you, Sci Fi, Thank you!

I've been writing reviews on the new fall TV offerings for the past couple of weeks, so I was just standing on a ledge, ready to let gravity do its thang...but then suddenly, my computer chimed the Dean Martin song, "Return To Me", which is my special notification whenever there is Bonnie Hunt news!

This is wonderful news! I have a couple of tapes of her hysterically sublime conversations with David Letterman and Tom Snyder which I will now dig out for my weekend viewing (cleansing my palate after so many lackluster fall shows). I will now count the days to the Tuesday after Labor Day 2008...and travel hopefully.

I guess this means I have to clean up that giant bullseye I painted on the pavement beneath my window. (sigh)

TV Gord- I'm going to assume you enjoyed Return To Me (the movie), and tell you this:

I thought I was the only one who enjoyed Return To Me!! Bonnie Hunt was, as ever, wonderful.:)

And please, scrub up the bullseye!

Yes, curluplw, I certainly did. You are not alone! I was a little worried about the premise of that movie for personal reasons, but I showed it to my sister (who had a heart transplant in 1989) and she gave it her seal of approval, so I was able to enjoy it without guilt! ;) The DVD has a nice extra of Carroll O'Connor singing with the cast in one scene that always warms my heart (especially since his passing).

I heart you for your last line. I cleaned up the bullseye in half the time I thought it would take...I guess you were with me, spiritually. Thanks.

I love Eureka!

I managed to get to see the Philadelphia Love Park fountain in all it's bloody glory.

There's a Flickr community with some photos from around the country.
