David James Elliott Gets Knighted by Sci Fi
David James Elliott by John Sciulli/ WireImage.com
Bad-ass JAG alum David James Elliott will soon be fighting crime the old-fashioned way: With swords. Per the Reporter, Sci Fi Channel has just green lit a miniseries with the working title Mirabilis, which centers on four knights who must save their eponymous land.
Elliott will, of course, play a knight who's wandering the countryside with vengeance on the brain after his family is slayed. And there's a love interest (obv!), in fellow knight Perfidia, to be played by the oh-so-gorgeous Natassia Malthe.
Would you tune in to see Elliott on horseback, tearing through the fictional land, in body-hugging chain mail? This one sounds like a sure bet. — Anna Dimond

I second that Geets- I will follow him wherever he goes. Although it helps that I am a sucker for movies that include knights.

Of course I would! DJE, knights...what's not to love? Unfortunately, I don't get Sci-Fi. However, we have THREE Lifetime channels. Does that sound right to you?

Thank you for making my day. I adore him - and playing a knight? Even better.

Monkey65, you might be able to download eps on the internet - not the same as the tv but it's better than nothing.
ANd, yes, three Lifetime channels is wrong - and I'm a girl!

ctheslayer, that's what I might end up having to do--download them, if iTunes has them.
Heck, my husband is more likely to watch a movie on Lifetime than I am. The most I might do is watch one of the biography shows or a Providence rerun. I absolutely hate the "women in jeopardy" movies.

I wouldn't mind seeing Elliot if he looks like the picture that accompanied this article. The last time I saw him on TV in Closer to Home, it looked like he had a hair piece. It was strange.
I'll at least check it out.
Monkey65, there is something seriously wrong with a service that gives you 3 Lifetime channels and no Sci-fi. My deepest sympathy! I second Sangeeta's recommendation: see if you can access Sci-fi on the 'net. If not, scream bloody hell to your cable provider. ">

If it has chain maille in it, I'm there. (I make chain maille jewelry.)

Am I the only one who doesn't see the connection between knights and scifi? Are these super-powered knights from the future? Is there a mystical element that adds some sort of supernatural spin, making it a fantasy movie?

No, that just BITES!BLOWS! insert appropriate verb.
And 3 LT channels? That's sooo....WRONG, not to mention...sick.
~Sangeeta Who didn't know that sci-fi wasn't considered part of basic cable package.

oops, sorry.
Am I the only one who doesn't see the connection between knights and scifi?
Actually, Sci-fi has ventured into the world of fantasy before, with such miniseries as Merlin, and more recently their updated version of The Wizard of OZ. They also used to show reruns of Xena, and a show about a guy who could speak to the beasts of the jungle (forgot the title but it has the word "beast" in it), and an old series, Roar with Heath Ledger (I think it was about the insurrection of the Irish or Scottish against British invasions). So knights--and that historical period--are not such a stretch for the Sci-fi channel.
