CSI Star Not Fired After Allegedly Popping Paparazzo

As suggested by video playing here, CSIer Gary Dourdan got into a bit of a row with a TMZ.com cameraman on Tuesday morn. At first, TMZ says, Dourdan ordered the camera to be shut off, then tried to wrest it from its owner. In the course of fighting over the equipment — and with the camera rolling — Dourdan allegedly shoved the shutterbug into the pavement before taking off on his motorcycle. Dourdan later returned to the scene (the L.A. hot spot Hyde) to resume the scuffle, ultimately chasing the photog into a taxi. Per the New York Daily News, the pap has since filed a vandalism complaint, with TMZ's owner saying, "Dourdan is a thug and... needs to look at some time behind bars." Dourdan's rep responded with a statement saying, "Gary has always been respectful of the media and the paparazzi but also values his privacy. It's our belief that this is a minor incident exaggerated... to create a story."

CBS says the scrape has not affected CSI production and that rumors of Dourdan being subsequently fired from the drama "are absolutely false."

Oh brother. The pap make it their lifes work to get in the faces of people and then when someone doesn't like it and asks for the guy to shut off the camera (and he lies and says he did when he didn't) why is he surprised when the person goes a little over the edge. Now, where I grew up a beat down was a fist pummelling a face till one person didn't get up. This was NOTHING at all. Seems to me Gary violated this guy with about as much gusto as the photog violated his. Nothing to get all upset about. And even if CSI fired Warrick who would know, he's hardly ever on anymore. But I do like him and I'm sure this will blow over since it's nothing major.

Why can't the media leave people alone when they asked to be left alone.

Well he can always blame one of his costars for his outburst.

I mean that works for some people.

Enough already, the press needs to back off and leave celebs alone, if they are promoting a movie, etc fine, but not on their private time, whats next pictures on celebs in the bathroom!! Yes some celebs live for the press (like Paris "I'm a changed person" Hilton & Linsday and Britney). I watched the TMZ video and first the camera dude should be fired anyway because he shoots a lousy video and second you don't see Gary do anything, its 15 minutes of footage listening to the camera dude whine about being chased. How does it feel? Not so fun right? Leave Gary alone!

Oh, give it a rest! TMZ isn't worth the net time it gets, and the Post is nothing but bird cage liner material!

I don't buy tabloids, because it's lies and exaggerations. So why would I believe paparazzi when "no" doesn't stop them? They all deserve to be trashed!

I hope CBS/CSI doesn't punish GD-he's a good actor and didn't sign his life away when he became an actor...

Wow - kind of surprised by the comments here - although I do agree. Gary appeared to be a bit inebriated but I have to say that the cameraman got what he deserved. Imagine a celebrity on a motorcycle getting caught at a trafic light with a swarm of paparazzi around him. They are worms!

If people stopped buying magazines (or visiting websites) that run paparazzi photos, then this madness would stop.

But there's a big reason US WEEKLY's circulation's so high...and why TV GUIDE looks a lot more like US WEEKLY now than it did a couple of years ago.

These guys all deserved to get their asses kicked, but, on a purely capitalistic level, they're just giving the people what they want.

He chose to eat at a restaurant where celebrities go to be photographed and be seen. He could have picked 1000 other restaurants in L.A. where there are no photographers; instead, he went to this one where everyone knows they will be photographed. Then he gets mad that his picture is taken? Give me a break. No matter how vile the profession, there's no excuse for beating someone up ... especially when you knew what you were getting into when you showed up. Sounds like this guy is just an ass with a temper.

I'm afraid I have no sympathy for the cockroach (and yes, people, that is the best word to describe these rude vermin--and I'm insulting cockroaches and vermin to do so) it's one thing to take pictures at openings but the constant invasion of one's personal space is very disgusting.

I for one, don't buy the magazines (or visit the websites) and it really doesn't matter if I do or not--the people paying for all of this will buy it to publish regardless. TMZ.com is one of the worst offenders because they act like this garbage is real news--guess what? It's not.

I agree, TMZ is the worst. Especilly when they referred to Beyonce as a "roboho". They're responsible for most, if not all photos of "certain celebrities" without their panties on. Did we need to know and see that? It was their personal preference. This site needs to disappear quickly.

I am in disbelief that anybody would waste their time defending Gary Dourdan. If you have seen the video footage, the attack was unprovoked. Dourdan told the camera man to put away the camera. The camera man was beginning to do so when Dourdan assaulted him.

Sure, the paparazzi are annoying, but does anybody even care about Gary Dourdan? When trying to explain his behavior later, Dourdan said that he was tired of the paparazzi hassling him and "distorting" his image. I rarely see any pictures of Dourdan in any tabloids (and God knows, I read enough of them) and I am fairly certain that most people don't give a crap about what is going on in Dourdan's life.

Gary Dourdan is making BS excuses for his irrational behavior. Anyone who is standing up for this wretch of a man is a poor excuse for a human being.

WOW!! Well, I reread what I wrote and did not see anything (pro or con) about defending Gary Dourdan--I was expressing my OPINION about shoddy, tasteless, exploited "journalism" and the length some of these so-called sites will go to to drum up a story.

If that makes me "a poor excuse for a human being" so be it.....but for the record, right back at 'ya, pal.
