What started with taking Brenda's tender flower and then hit new depths with that doomed jaunt to Mexico (behind Jim and Cindy's backs, no less!) now has apparently spiraled into full-on crime. Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Luke Perry has been booked for a guest-star gig on CBS' Criminal Minds this season, filling the "very dark" role of a baddie. A spokesperson for the Eye confirms that Perry will appear in one episode, airing toward the beginning of the season.

What's your take? Think Luke can bring the ominous and sinister just as well as Frankie Muniz? Was that question rhetorical? — Matt Mitovich

when i first started reading this i thought "NOOOOOOOO!! dont put him on CM..."

at first i didnt see him as a bad guy, but then i thought i could see him as some greasy, scrawny, Deliverance type character, that would work.

Luke is a fine actor so of course he can credibly play a bad guy.

He hasn't been his 90210 character for YEARS, so give the man a chance.

Perry will do an okay bad guy. Muniz was excellent. But James Van der Beek was absolutely brilliant. I was blown away by his performance as Raphael/Tobias.

If James Van Der Beek (Dawson) can pull it off then so can Dylan, I mean Luke. I look forward to it. At least he isn't going back to 9021blow. While i liked the original and still catch it on SoapNet i think another name should have been used instead of going backwards and re-using and tooling things. Dosen't anyone in TV or Movies have imagination of thier own??

Plash928: You must be referring to Mandy Moore, since I'm sure there are no OTHER Mandys worth mentioning in a discussion of Criminal Minds.

And is it me, or was Frankie Muniz the most sympathetic unsub of all time ever?

As long as Luke Perry doesn't take over the episode from the main cast the way Frankie Muniz did, I'm cool with seeing him play a baddie.

CM certainly has an eye for picking villains that truly surprise. I think Van Der Beek deserves an Emmy for his guest turn. Muniz deserves to be nominated for the Emmy that Van Der Beek should win. Now Luke Perry is thrown into the mix and I can't wait to see how he does!

Luke Perry was amazing on OZ (HBO prison drama of years ago)!!!!!! That is actually where he made his "mainstream" comeback (I think) and if I recall correctly he had lots of great reviews for his work. He should do an excellent job on the show!!!!!

OMG I am very excited! James Vanderbeek and Frankie Muniz were amazingly excellent unsubs(and creepy!). And I agree, I felt so bad for Muniz's character, it was really sad.

Lets hope he can pull off dark. I would hate for it to be a jump the shark episode.
