Crime-time Casting: Dawson Scores Super Gig
Is this what losing Joey Potter has reduced him to? The artist formerly known as Dawson Leary, James Van Der Beek, will guest on CBS' post-Super Bowl installment of Criminal Minds. His character, a Shaggy look-alike based on a photo I've spied, is suspected of being the Bible thumper behind a hoity-toity couple's murders following their Bowl bash.
Across the dial, Adam Beach only just appeared on Law & Order: SVU two days ago, and already he's being made a series regular. The Flags of Our Fathers actor will return to the NBC hit later this season as detective Chester Lake.

Yay for SVU. I liked Det Chester Lake as soon as he appeared on screen. Adam Beach is a great addition to a fantastic cast.

I'm sorta happy about Adam Beach being added as a regular, but why do I get the feeling this will only hasten the putting out to pasture of an already severely underused Det. John Munch? We miss you, Belz!!!! At least he got to shine in the epi with Jerry Lewis as his uncle this season.

Oh god, I hope he's not being brought in as a replacement for Benson or Stabler... But I did like him on the show, so, good.

Well, I didn't like him at all. If he's replacing any of the great cast they have now, I'll be watching reruns only. If. It. Ain't. Broke. Don't. Fix. It.

I don't like him either. His teeth are too big or something, but I can't stand the way he speaks.

I love Adam and am very happy to see a Native American in a primetime role. There aren't many of us out there so this is great news for me.
