Crash Update: How Prison Breaker's Goose Was Cooked

TMZ.com is reporting that Lane "Tweener" Garrison was on a booze run last week when he got into the car accident that left a 17-year-old dead. Reportedly after swilling all the Grey Goose at a party he'd been invited to by the deceased and two 15-year-olds, the Prison Break alum refused to drink shots of Substitut... er, Absolut. So, off he sped, and the rest, sadly, is now a matter of record.

How stupid is this guy? Sorry, but I believe he deserves whatever they do to him. Hanging out with underage kids is one thing, but the end result was life ending and changing in this case. He should have known better.

I really feel for Grey Goose (after, of course, the families of the person killed and the other people hurt), here they try to position themselves as a classy Vodka brand (sponsoring Sundance's Iconclasts and such) and then this douche kills someone. When I have my next Grey Goose Cosmopolitan (I actually also only drink Grey Goose, but I don't drive drunk, and I wouldn't do so just to avoid drinking Absolut - Smirnoff maybe - KIDDING), I'll be toasting to Tweener's incarceration.

I imagine Lane Garrison is regretting many of the decisions he made that night. His guilt or responsibility surely will be determined by a jury of his peers. He will have to live for the rest of his life knowing that the decisions he made, in part, contributed to his passengers death and the injuries to the girls. There is nothing anyone can do to make the family whole again. Lane would be wise to lay off the Grey Goose and when the dust settles, to use this as an opportunity to talk to teens about the harsh reality of drinking and driving. In reality, this is the opportunity for every parent, friend, and neighbor to talk to any teen they know about responsible socializing and the importance of having a designated driver. Any teen who finds themselves in a situation where they are faced with the decision to ride with someone who has had even only one drink should be able to pick up the phone and say,"I think my ride is plastered. Can I get a ride?" Sometimes they don't get a second chance, but what we do from this point on can educate and possibly save someone else.
