Got Milk? Josh Brolin, James Franco and Emile Hirsch soon will. The hot properties are close to signing on to appear opposite Robin Wright's better half in Gus Van Sant's flick about the U.S.' first openly gay elected official, Harvey Milk. I said openly gay, Larry Craig; don't get your knickers in a knot.... Samuel L. Jackson will star in the thriller Unfinished Country as the chief administrator of an overcrowded South African hospital.... CBS Films has optioned as its first potential feature the novel Beastly, about a schoolteacher who, under a student's spell, turns into a monster. — Ben Katner

I dunno... Barney Frank was elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 1972. Maybe Barney wasn't officially "openly gay" at the time, and Harvey was when he was elected for his public position in 1977. I was too young back then to know for sure. ;)

Barney Frank's homosexuality was only revealed long after he'd been elected after a male prostitute scandal and long after Harvey Milk had been elected and killed.
