Christian Bale Won't Shed Light on a Batman Return

Christian Bale, whose war drama Rescue Dawn hits theaters July 4, proved evasive when asked by TVGuide.com about the rumored return of Cillian Murphy's Scarecrow in the Batman Begins follow-up Dark Knight. "I won't confirm it, 'cause I never know what I can and can't say," he hedged (in what our Raven describes as "his seriously hot native-Welsh accent"). "I usually wait for other people to say it, then I know it must be common knowledge."

That unsaid, Bale notes that the sequel — hitting theaters in July 2008 — enjoyed a seamless transition, with the returning likes of Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman and Michael Caine joined by newcomers Heath Ledger (as the Joker), Aaron Eckhart (Harvey Dent/Two Face) and Maggie Gyllenhaal (replacing Katie Holmes as love interest Rachel Dawes). "It's been a nice progression," he said, "and we have the confidence now," based on Batman Begins' strong reception. — Additional reporting by Raven Snook

I'm just happy Holmes is gone. Now let's get Kate Bosworth off of Superman: MOS.

I thought about asking if he'd pull up his shirt, but I think his wranglers would have thrown me out of the room! :) It was fun being kinda close to him though...

deeshopper, how right you are! Holmes was a terrible choice for BR and KB had nothing whatever of the spirit of LL about her. Awful.

For some reason, DC has always had difficulty casting the female characters in their movies, while the males are usually dead-on. Wonder why?

In any case, there must be worthier actresses for the Lois part. Suggestions?

Rachel McAdams is my choice for Lois Lane.

There was one point in Superman Returns where Kate Bosworth looked and acted like her. (When she was giving Perry White her Superman Returns article, and her hair was braided back.) Other than that, I have no idea.

Cillian Murphy's return as The Scarecrow has been photographed and recorded. You can see him back on set along with video here:

Yes, wycked1, Cillian is a beautiful b*tch. Unfortunately his name makes me think of Gillian what's her name from the X-Files, which immediately makes my burning flame for Cillian freeze over. :(

The perfect Lois Lane is Zooey Deschanel.

I'd love to see her in the role. And I'd love to see them go the Incredible Hulk route and pretend the first movie never happened.

And I'd like a pony.
