Stephen King's Children of the Corn is coming to life — again.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sci Fi Channel has added cast members to a TV-movie remake of the 1984 chiller, including David Anders (Heroes) and Kandyse McClure (Battlestar Galactica) as a couple trying to work out their issues by taking a second honeymoon. Alas, their road trip lands them in a seemingly deserted town which hides a very dark secret within in its rows of corn.

Also joining the cast are Preston Bailey (Dexter) as boy preacher Isaac and Daniel Newman (Surface) as his rebellious partner-in-crime, Malachai.

This remake, which is filming in and around Davenport, Iowa, is set to air in 2009. Do you think it will be as grim and creepy as its predecessor? — Gina DiNunno

It's a Sci Fi channel movie -- the only scary thing about it is how hard it is going to make you laugh.

Between my love for David Anders, my girlcrush on Dee and my fond adolescent memories of the cheesiness that is "Children of the Corn," I fear I am actually going to have to watch this.

Can't we just stop with the remakes already?

Mm, BSG and Alias mated and had a Stephen King baby! I don't really remember the original plot though; evil kids in the corn? A scarecrow that comes to life? Bad tortillas? It sounds fun, but I don't know if it will top the staggering beauty and harrowing melodrama of Mansquito.

I love horror movies, but Children of the Corn scared the crap out of me when I was kid, and to this day I have an aversion to it. Even just hearing the name of it creeps me out. Silly, I know. However, I adore David Anders, so I may have to give in to the fear and watch it! :) Besides, another poster pointed out, it is a Sci Fi channel movie, how scary can it be?? lol.

OK so I know that I'm going to watch this because I love David...but I also know how cheesey it's going to be. The movie scared the crap out of me as a child but not at all years later. They are going to have to do some major duty work here.

In the vein of our fathers sometimes did not use their young judgment and scared the crap out of their kids, my dad was watching this one sunny Saturday afternoon on TV in the living room. I came it and asked if I could watch it and well, twenty three years later it still creeps me out.

personally the short story on which this is based scared me a lot more than the movie ... but the movie wasn't too bad! I'm not sure if a remake is necessary - plus a sci fi movie remake? Doesn't sound promising. But i really like David Anders - so will probably end up watching it!

I only have four words: "HE WANTS YOU, MALACHAI!"

Ah, nicolars...there IS something scarier than that!

If the ratings are spectacular, it MIGHT become a series!

Indeed, given SciFi's penchant for "five-levels-below-the-lowest-common-denominator"-quality writing, it might just be so bad that Stephen King kills himself, just so he can spin in his grave with pent-up rage!
