CBS Announces Price Is Right On, Shark Swims to New Night

Price Is Right Million Dollar Spectacular by Monty Brinton/CBS
The Price Is Right is so right with its ratings that CBS has ordered four more special eps of the series, to air in a Wednesday time slot (8 pm/ET) during May sweeps. Previous airings of the special edition, Price Is Right Million Dollar Spectacular — with Drew Carey hosting — has won its time slot, too, says the Reporter.

CBS has also announced that Shark will return April 29, moving to Tuesdays at 9 pm/ET. The drama has four more episodes to wrap up from where it left off before the strike, although no word yet on whether it will get picked up for another season.

While we're waiting, at least we've got a little price-guessing to do, and more of James Woods to flesh out spring TV. What's your hope for the series? — Anna Dimond

Concerning Shark: Why aren't they putting it back on Sunday's? I thought Dexter was only a fill in because of the strike? And once the strike was over, and new episodes were made, Dexter would go away?

This moving it to Tuesdays doesn't make me very hopeful that it's coming back next season. Did it do poorly on Sunday's after Cold Case? If it did, I can understand the Tuesday move if CBS was trying a different time slot, seeing that a lot viewers watch NCIS. Then again, it will be up against stupid American Idol, so maybe CBS is trying to kill it.

I like both Shark and Dexter. There's room for both.

I hope this isn't a bad omen for The Unit, the rightful owner of Tuesdays at 9pm on CBS. :)

First, Shark isn't really a good show. I'm not sure what they wanted to do with this show, but somehow I can't imagine Les Moonves just wanted Mr. Woods to show up and smile/grimmace every week. Maybe Les lost to James playing poker.

Dexter deserves to stay on CBS' lineup. It would easily beat out some other shows on CBS right now and serve as a good lead in to Letterman during the week. Let's try Tuesdays at 10PM (I would watch Dexter over L&O:SVU anytime because its fresh and innovative).

The Unit might not gather in the ratings like American Idol (is anyone else tired of the reality show craze?), but it usually comes in second with strong numbers. And the production is top notch. It is an entertaining hour. I hope they aren't trying to force a "shark" down the "unit's" throat.

By 29 April, won't AI be down to an hr @ 8p? The performance shows on Tuesday (like tonight) are already down to 90 mins. Somehow, I don't think "Shark" will be going up against AI @ 9, except maybe when Idol Gives Back.

"more of James Woods to flesh out spring TV" Was that a sly poke at Woods' beer belly?

Shark probably won't be pitted against American Idol many times, if at all, but it will be against the DWTS Results show every week and considering the fact that the final show moves up to the 10:00 time slot on May 20th(when DWTS will undoubtedly do a two hour FINALE like they always do) makes me think someone at CBS is out to kill the show.

I really am not expecting a season three.

I will be totally disappointed if Shark were not to come back to CBS this fall.
It's a great show with great actors.
Please keep it going.

I hope CBS renews Shark for next season. I look forward to seeing how James Woods out smarts his competition at the end of an episode. I think they have some great writing on that show. If they do though, I hope they leave it on the same night each week and don't bounce it around all over the place.
