Casting News: Heroes Cutie Is Terminator Series' Savior

Per the Hollywood Reporter, Thomas Dekker, aka Claire's freshly mind-swiped bud, Zach, on Heroes, has been cast as savior-of-humanity John Connor in The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Fox's drama pilot set in the aftermath of the Terminator 2 film. (In related news, Heroes is replaying the fall finale Saturday at 9 pm/ET. Watch poor Eden stain the window all over again.)

Also, Variety reports that Rebecca Romijn is joining ABC's Ugly Betty as a series regular, playing the mystery woman who has been conspiring with Wilhelmina to take over "Mode" — minus any blue body paint, I am sad yet behooved to report. UPDATE: ABC's own press release reads, "Romijn will play the mysterious woman behind the mask who's been plotting to take over 'Mode.'"

Does this mean that it isn't Fey Summers we have seen? Matt, has Rebecca been doing the voice all along, cause it KINDA sounds like her? I am so confused....cue quirky Betty theme music!

So, I guess this means claire and zach aren't gonna be friends anymore, huh?

too bad. I liked his character.

Why can't they cast either Edward Furlong or Nick Stahl to reprise the role? FOX is so going to screwed this one up just like every other stuff that FOX cancelled over the years.

No, Rebecca has not been doing the voice/lying there in the bandages. And the Variety piece did not say Fey by name, so I shall not, either.

UPDATE:
I just got out of our morning news meeting, and the consenus is Betty has definitely allowed for the possibility that it is not actually Fey beneath the gauze.

Thanks for the insight, Matt. You are always tres helpful for us news hounds! I was wondering whether it is Fey or even someone related to Fey....OOOH what if it is the child of Fey and Daniel's father? Oh this could be so juicy!!!

Well, this casting might actually make that storyline rather interesting after all. I liked Rebecca on Pepper Dennis, so I think she'll fit in well. I like the idea she might be Fey and Bradford's daughter. But why has she been in a hospital, or spa, or whereever that is.

Congrats to Thomas. I liked him so much as Zach, but now that his mind has been wiped, I guess his usefulness is over. I think he'll make a good John Conner, although I must say I'm leery about where this show is going to go. Who's gonna play Sarah?

Lena Headey is Sarah.

I wish I had meetings where we discussed TV.

I wish they had cast someone else as John Connor. Dekker is too feminine-looking. Sarah Connor and Michael Biehn would not have had a kid that looked like that.

Yeah, unlike Edward Furlong circa 1992.

Well, to me EF didn't look feminine. He had that dorky haircut, but he looked like a teenage -boy-. TD is just too pretty.

I like Dekker on Heroes, too. I hate to see him go, but it appears all the heroes will be ending up in New York, so I guess the recurring hometown characters will be fading away.

Boy, when I first saw Dekker on The Young and the Restless in the early '90s I never would have predicted he actually had a future as an actor. He occasionally played Little Phillip if the regular child actor was unavailable, and -- this is going to sound terrible -- as a child actor he was very cloying and cutesy-pootsy.

Thankfully, he has outgrown that.

I remember him from the honey I shrunk the kids tv series.
