Casting: Look Who's Coming to Play Barney's Brother
How I Met Your Mother has cast Barney's brother, and he will be played by... Wayne Brady. Adoption? Half sibling? "The less we say about it, the funnier it will be," exec producer Carter Bays tells Variety. "We like that 'What the hell?' factor." Thus far, Brady is only booked for a single, Nov. 27 appearance, but the role may become recurring (as has Bryan Cranston's gig as Ted's boss).... Per the Hollywood Reporter, Frances Fisher (Titanic) and Ivan Sergei (Charmed) have joined the cast of the USA Network pilot To Love and Die in L.A., respectively playing the mother and love interest of Shiri Appleby's daughter-of-an-assassin.

That really is a "What the hell" factor.
I saw Wayne Brady host a Gala at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal a couple of years ago. That guy is hilarious and very talented at improv. I'm curious to see how he'll do as Barney's brother (maybe one of them was switched at birth?). I'll be watching to see.

I adore Wayne Brady. If I didn't already watch Mother, I'd make a point to watch this episode.

I know a lot of people make fun of Wayne Brady, so I'm really glad I'm not the only one finds him so funny and likable. Knowing Mother, it sounds like this'll be a hilarious set-up. Geez, honest-to-God, I'm giggling already.

This is the only comedy show I watch, so I have bells on waiting for this episode.
Wayne was so wonderful hosting "Celebrity Duets", that I'm hoping he will have a recurring role.
With Barney's quick wit and Wayne's adlibs, this should be an excellent show.

I loved Wayne Brady's talk show before it was so unjustly canceled. He is a multi-talented performer who was replaced by Tony Danza(??????). His being cast as Barney's brother opens a wealth of storyline possibilities. I hope he becomes at least a recurring character.
