Brothers & Sisters Returns with a Bang!

Balthazar Getty and Sarah Jane Morris in Brothers & Sisters by Scott Garfield/ABC
With the WGA strike still going strong, most prime-time favorites are entrenched in repeats. Lucky for us, ABC still has three more original episodes of Brothers & Sisters to broadcast before the Walker clan walks off into the night.

As usual, there will be plenty of surprises when the show returns with fresh fare on Jan. 13. "Now that almost the entire family knows about Tommy's affair, it is only a matter of time before Julia will find out," says Sarah Jane Morris, who plays the two-timing winemaker's wife. "Julia will have some secrets of her own, though!"

While those secrets may not come to fruition until the writers resume work again, there will be plenty of big reveals before then. "The [Jan. 13] episode is called 'Feast of the Epiphany,' but there may be some other characters dealing with epiphanies of their own," Morris teases with a laugh. "Get ready for another bomb-filled Walker dinner!" — Dana Meltzer Zepeda

I am just curious and this seems as good a place as any to ask. Does anyone else just not feel the supposed romance of the Kitty/Senator whatever his name is? I LOVE this show and I love Calista Flockhart but the heavily featured story of this pair puts me to sleep. I can't wait for the divorce and a new love interest for Kitty! ::fingers crossed::

I can't wait for the show to return, but I'm surprised that you aren't reporting that show creator Jon Robin Baitz has been ousted from his role with the show, and has left California for New York.

Or, that before leaving, Baitz lobbed some horrible insults towards TV Guide's Michael Ausiello in a column that he writes for the Huffington Post.

Or, that Baitz has accused ABC execs of ageism for not wanting to write for the older characters, or make the show more diverse.

These topics are jucier than the non-spoilers that are listed.

To blossom32 :

I think that Mike Ausiello did report this in those silly little blind items. He has one about a show runner being kicked out and the writers strike blinding everyone to the fact that it happened !

YIKES! I just finished reading both of the huffingtonpost.com essays... incendiary I do not believe would be too strong of a word to describe them. They do explain a lot about why the look and feel of B&S has changed so much... and they also confirm what I've long suspected about Hollyweird TV columnists like Ausiello.

Ease off Ausiello, he's my favorite part of Wednesdays.

Very interesting essay. I can see how business types would grow tired of dealing with the dramatic types - it's just a case of operating out of different sides of the brain. They don't get each other. (I say this as one who operates from the artsy side with a brother who operates from the business side.)

Anyone know who Showrunners 1,2 and 3 are that he speaks of?

Blossom - did you not click the link at the end of the story? Baitz's departure is detailed there.

GuillermoIbarra, look at the time codes at the end of my post, and the time that the Baitz story was posted. I asked my question before that post was placed on the site, and I may be patting myself on the back, but I think it was my prodding that lead to the second article being posted.
