Britney's Visitation Rights Expanded
Britney Spears by Ferdaus Shamim/ WireImage.com
Following a court hearing Tuesday, Britney Spears was granted expanded visitation rights of her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, says Us.
Kevin Federline's attorney, Mark Kaplan, said the decision "represents a cautious step moving forward." He also said that the court was "pleased with the progress that seems to be occurring" with Spears daily.
In addition, a court spokesman read a statement from Brit's parents that lauded their daughter and the court: "We are so pleased with Britney's progress, and we are very appreciative of the court's recognition of this progress." And, while Spears herself did not discuss the ruling, she was reportedly smiling as she left he court with her parents, and her attorney gave a thumbs-up when asked if Brit was pleased.
Tuesday's decision does not change Federline's possession of full custody, an arrangement that began in January, but it does seem like a step in the right direction. I'm glad for her. She's young and talented. It's not to late to turn things around, and it looks like she is. Hope she keeps up the good work.

I hope that this means that with Stella seemingly sticking around for a while that Spears's Abby will also stick around. She fits the show's tone and the role being recurring rather than lead is, I think, better than jumping the gun to the next step: a lead in her own sitcom. Be a part of the show, have fun with it while rediscovering the discipline of having fun in a relatively low-pressure level of a work environment. And, of course, avoid the paparazzi traps -- the Ivy, Coffee Bean, anything remotely Entourage-y.
She's got mad potential if she resists the urge to go too big again too soon and she's in such a good groove. Not a fan of her music, but I'm totally a fan of her and where she is right now as an actress and look forward to the possibility of her realizing her potential as a comedic actress as long as she's faaaaaaaaaaaaar more patient with her career than the stalkerazzi psychotically demand her to be.

PS: She should do a total embargo against US and any of the other tabloids. Redbook, Cosmo, yes, but stay away from the movie premieres and charity events and non-prestigious awards shows (nothing but Grammys and possibly Emmys. No MTV, no People's Choice, no Globes -- *none,* and I mean *none* of the chaff.

I'm glad for her. She seems to be making some progress now and I really hope it stays that way. I'm not ashamed to admit that I've always liked Britney, and I've always wanted her to come out on top. I'm not sure what it is, but I've always felt that way. It was very obvious that she had some kind of breakdown, and needed some professional help. I really hope she keeps taking things slow so she can recover fully and get back her life.

I hope we continue to hear positive and good things about Britney's behavior, career, and personal life. It would be great for this "story" to have a happy ending. She seems to be much healthier and happier, especially now that she's able to see her kids again. I wish her the best!

"Tuesday's decision does not change Federline's possession of full custody, an arrangement that began in January, but it does seem like a step in the right direction."
This implies that the "right direction" is to change primary custody back to Brittney. I find that curious. Do you think that the goal is Brittney regaining primary custody simply because she's "the Mom" and, therefore, expected to be the primary parent?

No, from what I've read, Britney wants to have 50/50 custody back by August. I think she realizes that Kevin has been there for the kids when was just not physically, emotionally, or mentally able to do so, and that the best solution would be for them to share their children equally.
That being said, I don't know that August will be soon enough to say that she's capable of having her children 50% of the time. I support Britney and think she has really bounced back from the lows of 2007, but I think giving the kids back to her may be overwhelming if she's not in the right frame of mind. Progress is one thing, but she should be taking it one day at a time.
I saw pictures of her on the set of "How I Met Your Mother," and she looks just like the old Britney. Does she have the best voice in the business? Certainly not. Can she reach the heights she was at when her career was at its peak? More than likely not. But can she make a respectable comeback? I don't doubt it.
