Following a custody hearing Tuesday, Britney Spears has regained the right to have monitored, overnight visits once a week with her two children, two-year-old Preston and one-year-old Jayden.

Spears headed to court to meet Kevin Federline and his legal team seeking to change the most recent arrangement, in which she had supervised visits with the two boys.

The former couple's next court appearance is July 15. Do you agree with Tuesday's ruling? Is Britney ready for more responsibility and autonomy? — Anna Dimond

As though anyone here knows Britney well enough to even give their opinion on whether or not she deserves custody rights.

Prydain: As though anyone here knows Britney well enough to even give their opinion on whether or not she deserves custody rights.

I'm bipolar (Type 2 rather than Type 1), so I think I'm qualified to say this: these are supervised overnight visits, which means that she's not being given very much leeway at all. Not that I think that they're giving her too little leeway -- I don't. This is clearly a trial run (I hesitate to use the words test or experiment). She's their mother and since there's a certain amount of genetic predisposition to bipolarity, it's IMO better for all three of them for her to be able to have ongoing contact with them so that if it ever manifests in them, they have her and her ongoing experience to eventually draw upon.

Also, she's done good work on HIMYM and seems to be handling the tabloid press and stalkerazzi better, so it seems like the team of family and doctors that are helping her are really helping her. To what extent is, of course, unknown other than what we see, but nevertheless there's clearly improvement.

So yes, I agree with the court's ruling (especially since Family Court is based on the childrens' welfare, not on *either* of the parents'. Her expanded visitation rights are minimal, so IMO, it's a a no-brainer No pun about Britney intended, even though I'm sure that Britney hatahs will try to riff one off my remark anyway.

And note, I'm really NOT a fan of Britney (and I'm straight) -- although if she stays with comedic acting and the current incremental, cautious rebuilding of her self, her career and her reputation, I *might* become a fan of her as a comedic actress.
