Britney Visits Her Kids for First Time in Seven Weeks

Britney Spears on Saturday morning enjoyed a visitation with her sons for the first time in seven weeks. On Friday, K-Fed lawyer Mark Kaplan told People that he, his partner and lawyers for Spears had worked out a "structured" arrangement in which the star might have some limited visitation rights restored.

Brit hadn't seen Sean Preston or Jayden James since Jan. 3, when she had her first stand-off with the police. Kaplan would not reveal the deets of the new deal, but he did say, "We're pleased that... the process of reinstating the children's mother as a participant in their lives can commence." One source tells the mag, "The real hero was [Spears' father] Jamie. He has taken charge, and she has visitation again." (Both Jamie and Brit's psychiatrist were present for the three-hour visit.)

Is Brit on the road to recovery, for real? Since her dad put the smackdown, it seems like her life's a little less toxic. Give us your take. — Anna Dimond

Much too soon to tell.
How long will her father be her conservator?
If/when he is relieved of these duties will Britney be able to maintain the low profile she has over the last week or so?

I'm happy that the boys were able to see their mother but I believe it's a wait and see situation.

Let's hope during this time she is getting the mental health treatment she needs.

Glad to see a positive step. Although like any addict or person whos sick, anyone can get better if they are being deprived of the things that made them sick. Its the mind set that has to change, so lets hope that her father and the doctor are changing more than just whos around her and why. Lets hope they are convincing her of the gravity of the situation.

May she continue down this positive road to recovery. And keep the leeches like her mom and Lufti away from her.

You know, it's nice to see something positive about Britney for a change. I hope it continues. Of course, TMZ.com might have to shut their doors. Oh, wouldn't that just break your heart? Now that's sarcasm!

It's extremely very wonderful that Britney Spears visited her children for the first time in seven weeks but I hope greatly that the children have a professional guiding everything also because seeing a mother and then not extremely affects and traumatizes the children. Also, for Spears to triumph, drug addiction and mental illness have to be busted through. Spears has to get de-empowered and I don't know how that can occur. The quotes I've read attributed to her show an extreme self-righteous defiance. Rolling Stone described abominable behavior towards others- cursing, being shockingly rude and verbally abusive and profoundly unrespecting of others-like someone truly gone amuck from within their own soul. And when you are a star with power, you can keep in that more, obviously, because of money and people around your private domain keeping you afloat in your uncontroledness, your self-destruction. Mental illness and drug addiction don't know themselves. Also, it is so extremely important that when Spears does hopefully go for treatment again, that the facility or hospital is great- truly great- so that a very very difficult case and person can be reached, can be grabbed and gotten through to. At least an acute piercing of a level of denial would have to occur. And I wish so very much that this be shed on Spears, her family, her situation, her reality so that she can change, so that her children can get the very great things that they deserve- one of which is a loving, sane, mentally healthy, completely steady, reliable, and embracing mother...Svet
