Britney's Conservators Can Show Manager the Door

In the wake of another hearing on Britney Spears' affairs, there's another behind-the-scenes shake-up in the works. At a Thursday hearing, the presiding commish granted Spears' conservators — her father, Jamie, and lawyer Andrew Wallet — the right to fire her manager (the real one), Howard Grossman.

Commissioner Reva Goetz required that Grossman turn over "all documents, records and assets relating to Britney Spears" to the conservators. And while Grossman has not yet officially been fired, he is reportedly close with Sam Lutfi, the Britney associate who has been at odds with the Spears family.

In the meantime, Britney's lawyers, Trope and Trope, have filed papers asking to be removed as her counsel. A hearing on the matter is scheduled for March 10. With all of this turnover, it looks like Britney might really be on her way to a clean slate, at least on the managerial front. What's your take? Will the shake-up yield results? — Anna Dimond

I truly hope that Britney can find some stability and normalcy. Sadly though I fear that her being such a public/publicized person probably doesn't giver her much of a chance at that. However, it would seem that her family, or at least part of it, is using extraordinary means to try to help her. Perhaps there is light at the end of this dark tunnel for Britney.

It looks like her dad, Jaime, is taking his role in all this very seriously. It's good to see someone taking the reins and getting this stuff before the court. Now if they can just get the poor woman out of Hollywood and into a more normal environment where her daily routine doesn't involve driving around town in the wee hours of the morning and stopping at hotels for a few hours. And, most importantly, doesn't involve those idiot photographers chasing her like a fox at a hunt.

i'm very cautious to all of this news, i hope all these positive decisions are enforced!
i hope that the judge extends his conservatoship for 3 to six months...so that he can really clean up around her...cause fame is fleeting and her family will always be there when the paps have found a new in-style prey!
,
just taken the news everyday with precaution maybe 2008 will be the beginning of the end of this whole mess and that when 2009 comes she'll be fresh and anew with a positve take on life and he rkids and get he rpriority straight!

Wow, what a classy, thought provoking remark--NOT!

The remark stated above is in reference to a statement someone else had made that was IMO, inappropriate. Evidently, someone at TVGuide agreed and deleted the statement. (Thanks TVGuide--I just wanted to make sure, no one thought I was referring to the statement above me)

All of this is great on her parents side, finally took some action. I just wish Britany would check herself back into the hospital somewhere other than LA and get the psychological help she needs. If she doesn't do it for herself(which she should) do it for your children, they deserve a full-time mommy!
