Britney "Not Well Enough" to Mentor Idols, Says Exec

It is rather sad when you screw up your career to the degree that you can't score a gig as an American Idol mentor. "I would have had Britney Spears [on the show] last year for sure, when I thought she was trying to get it all back together again," Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe told reporters on a Thursday conference call. But as we have all since seen, Spears' "efforts" were in vain. "Britney at this moment... I don't think is well enough to do anything," said Lythgoe, "and I think she needs looking after rather than being pushed in front of the cameras or pushing herself in front of cameras. I thinks she needs to get herself together."

Finally someone in the biz isn't trying to squeeze every last drop they can get out of her. Everyone else should follow suit and force her to have no option but get herself together.

"Britney at this moment... I don't think is well enough to do anything,"

That's one way to put it. Honestly though, this girl needs to be left alone for a little while, and you guys (TV Guide, that is) are some of the people who need to do that.

When Britney Spears' career has tanked so badly that "American Idol" doesn't want her input, Britney has sunk to a historic low. As far as I am concerned, Britney would never be acceptable for anything. Some of the things that she has done--like displaying her anatomy for the photogs--are unforgivable. There is no place for her on this planet. The press must leave her alone. After all, we have seen every portion of her body and seen that she has lost her looks and ability to perform. Everybody needs to get on with it and find a new, interesting, person to observe. Go photograph the inmates in the lowest depths of our prisons and mental hospitals. There are far more interesting people there, I suspect.

Britney needs some serious help and i dotn see her family stepping in to really help - they enjoy the media to much. some one shoud step in and take away her money from her and her theiving family and help her get her live back on track and maybe in a few years she can try to come back slowly...

i feel for her and what she is going through, drugs and achol can do so much damage to a person. ever wonder how britney, paris, lindsay and others all partied togeterh and how everyone who paris comes in contact with or parties with ends up with sever drug problems!
just a though

BillBeaverPA:

Those who want to express their distaste of Britney and/or TV Guide's sad obsession with her SHOULD express their opinions on this message board. It is a quick and easy way to let our opinions be known to those who manage and edit the web site.

Whether or not our opinions make a difference is another matter.

so right, GarryB - I really think TV Guide needs to take the high road and stop the daily Brit updates. We get it - she's a mess, her career is in ruins, she's a horrible mother. ENOUGH!!! And until the TV Guide readers start speaking up, they will never stop covering nonsense about her.
