Britney Plots a "Surprise" Comeback as Bisexual Buzz Dogs Her Custody Bid

Provided she can get her act together — literally and figuratively — in time for the Sept. 9 kudoscast, Britney Spears is planning a surprise performance at this year's MTV Video Music Awards, hopefully signaling her "comeback," the New York Daily News reports. Just don't expect more girl-on-girl action... at least not on the stage. Adding fuel to the fire as ex-husband Kevin Federline wages a custody battle, a new story in OK! posits that Spears has been having a torrid affair with longtime Gal Friday Shannon Funk. Will Funk kiss and tell? Maybe so, now that she is among the BFFs who have been subpoenaed to testify in the case, says People.

A Sept. 14 hearing has been set for the Spears-Federline squabble.

I don't know what being bisexual would have to do with the custody arrangement. It shouldn't be an issue. Being a bad parent IS the issue and should remain so.

Bisexuality would be the least offensive thing she's done in the past year.

Um, how can the performance be a surprise if everyone knows about it?

And the above posters are absofrackin' right - bisexuality does not make you a bad parent unless you carry on in front of your kids, and that's regardless of your orientation.

I think Britney is going to be disappointed in the long run about the lack of interest in her "comeback". People are curious right now because she's been acting like such a train wreck, but once we see her perform once, I think interest will wane quickly. I don't believe anyone is going to run out and buy any records she puts out, so we're looking at her as an oddity right now.

Katcon, I think you totally missed the point and tried playing the gay card when it's not even in the deck. Do you seriously think that would be the main reason she was subpoenaed? Think about it for more then 2 seconds. The much more obvious reason is that she has obviously been around Britney enough to know how Brintey is with her kids. Wouldn't that reason make a whole lot more sense then jumping to the gay card?

wildbill, you are right; Funk is not subpoenaed because of their sexual relationship. She's being subpoenaed because she is apparently the source of the OK! exposé which says that Britney had apparently screamed at the kids once saying they were a mistake. Oh and apparently she also tried to put crest whitestrips on Sean Preston and when he got fussy, she threw them out and then yelled at him saying "fine, have ugly teeth then".

But, Katcon's reaction was similar to my own initial reaction - it seems it's in response to the title of this post.

I think some of these stories have to be exagerations though. Or at least I am hoping they are. They just keep getting crazier and crazier.

Personally, I could care less about Britney or a "comeback" - she should "stay gone!" and someone should take those beautiful boys before something horrible happens to them. To me, she is trash, has always been trash and will always be trash. She's not even a good singer, and the music world has survived great without her contributing crap to it!

This girl is borderline Anna Nicole, and if the things that are being said about her is partially true, then this could go either way.

I almost agree with Katcon and ctheslayer et al...
If Britney is bisexual, that should not matter in the least in a custody battle. But I don't think she is bisexual, I think she is using bisexuality like she uses everything else-for shock value. And if she is using it for shock value, that is nothing but disrespectful and sends yet another ugly message to those boys.

wildbill and eve21- I was just able to disagree (albeit slightly) with several posters and I did not have to attack them personally or belittle their opinions. It felt good.

I take issue with the word "performance" being applied to someone who will writhe around on stage and lip-sync a recorded-already song...but that's me.
