Britney Dodges Deposition (Again); Lawyers Ask to Drop "Impossible" Client

Trope and Trope, the third law firm to represent Britney Spears in her custody battle versus Kevin Federline, has asked to be taken off the case, citing the "impossible" nature of their self-destructive client who on Wednesday, once again, failed to show for her deposition. In court papers filed this afternoon, the firm claims, "There has been a breakdown in communications between [Britney] and Trope and Trope making further representation of her interests impossible."

Has Trope cured itself of a major headache? Time will tell. "A lawyer cannot simply withdraw from a case," Sorrell Trope, lead counsel for Spears, tells People. "We will ask the court to relieve us, which will be heard [in court] within a month's time."

Asked for comment, year-old Jayden James said, "Boo-wah, bah-bah. Gurgle. For the love of all that is holy, man, can we take the hint that Mom has checked out?! Goo-goo-ga."

Matt, check your notes. That quote you attributed to Jayden. Sounds more like Britney herself to me! :^O

Those kids would be better off in some third-party home where they never even have to know who her real parents are. (Too bad Anna Nicole isn't around anymore.)

I know people love to make fun of Brit, but please someone force her to get help. She's in need of medication, won't anybody help her. Her family, what, it's getting sad, she's gonna end up dead one day and people will still be making fun of her.

Karma is funny. Remember way back in the day Britney was considered the role model for young teens. She lived a alcohol and drug free life and was sending out positive messages to teens("No Sex before marriage"). While Christina Aguilera was seen as the "bad role model" by her questionable behavior and racier songs .

Now the tables have turned Britney is the bad role model while the public sees Christina in more of a positive light. Christina's songs spread the message of being true to your self and loving yourself.

Another note Britney welcomed the public into her life (to a certain extent) with her reality TV show. While Christina has distance herself from the public. She never publicly acknowledged her pregnancy until the 2nd trimester.

I just find it funny..does anyone else? :|

Harris4 I totally agree with you on that one. Personally I always preferred Christina to Britney but to watch Britney throw her life away is really sad. Didn't she get dumped by her publicist a few months ago? And now the lawyer wants to get rid of her. Come on girl, you're 26, a mother of 2 boys. Stop pushing the people around you away. See a psychologist, talk to your mama. Do something! The track Britney is heading isn't a good one. She's going to look back at this one day and be disappointed in herself.

Britney needs to take her butt out of L.A, and go back home to Lousiana. Getting out of L.A will do her and babies some good.

Happy New Year, Mr. Furley. I was just assuming Brits was walking about herself in the third person, as trashy, fish-out-of-water types tend to do in the 'Wood (Hollywood). ;)

She needs a little slammer time to get her butt back in this reality world. She's a spoiled kid in a womens body. She is most likely going to lose custody of her children if she doesn't change her way of life.

Kevin was out kissing Paris Hilton? From my outsiders point of view, Britney broke it off with Kevin because he had not been such a good husband or parent. Then post-Kevin, Britney seemed to spiral out of control. Maybe it is the divorce itself that is the mental stressor for Brit -- when she put all her hopes and dreams into one person, and that person stomped all over her (guys do it all the time). She went nuts. It certainly did not help her that the pre-nuptial agreement was completely useless in this situation (the dumb-ass lawyer who put that one together).

From what I have read (and read between the lines), Kevin is dragging out the divorce not for the sake and safety of the children, but for the money. Where does a backup dancer who claims to have no monthly income at all, find the cash to party with Paris Hilton?

I think her attorneys are giving her bad advice anyway. She should never give that deposition, and find some way to work out a settlement agreement with Kevin...this law firm was not protecting Britneys best interest. This is about money, and Brit just needs to offer Kevin enough of it (men have to do this all the time when they want to dump a wife).

When all said and done, and the custody, divorce, and money issues are all resolved, Kevin will lose interest in his children faster than his hip hop/rap CD his the discount bins at the music stores.

The children need an advocate looking out for their best interest. Britney needs a long vacation away from all the craziness of this situation. Kevin need to get himself a real job, and actually do some real work for a change (would you like fries with that order?).

Paris needs to get her head out of her butt and remember the time she spent in prison; hanging with Kevin is certainly not a step up for this woman, or her promises of a more mature and role model like image.

While I agree with the poster that its at least interesting the role switch between Christina Aguilera And Britney Spears, it's only been recently that the former cleaned up her act. I'm sorry, but I have a real problem with women who use the lame excuse "I'm in charge of my life and expressing myself and my sexuality" to justify bumping and grinding in dental floss and bandaids. Face it, sex sells, pure and simple. Don't try to glorify it by misquoting Gloria Steinem. If you are truly comfortable with it, you don't have to defend it.

Ok, off my soapbox now!:^O

I don't think Britney wants to be saved. I don't think she knows what she wants or cares how she looks anymore. She needs to have an intervention. She's trying to do an Anna-Nicole. She needs to be confronted by Justin, Christina and more of the decent people from her life when she was still decent otherwise she's going to do a Marilyn. I just think she's had so many problems that she's giving up than facing them; she's had so many people doing things for her that she can't do anything for herself.

Britney Spears is mentally ill and should be institutionalized. Who makes the decision to leave her on the streets? She will kill someone, probably not herself. Her parents--or someone--should step in. Why doesn't that judge do something? He could at least keep her from driving. There are recent photos of her running red lights, making illegal U and left turns, and driving at excessive speeds. Right after Christmas Britney jumped out of her own car into a car driven by a photographer she did not know. They went to a hotel where they spent two hours in a room together. All of this is documented by pictures. Those photographers who follow her know each other, and they know Britney very well. A judge should interview one of them.
