Brad Pitt Calls It Quits

No, not with Angelina Jolie. Are you kidding? He's just pulled out of Universal's State of Play because even a series of meetings with director Kevin MacDonald (The Last King of Scotland) couldn't ease his concerns about the script (which, thanks to the writers strike, can't be altered). What's more, the Hollywood Reporter adds, the studio is considering suing the actor as it seeks to replace him in the political thriller with Johnny Depp or Russell Crowe. Unless you've got a better idea? — Ben Katner

Um, settle the strike and let the writers get back to work? Just a thought...

While Brad Pitt is major eye candy, Johnny Depp or Russell Crowe are better actors.

Um, how about trying to get John Simm to reprise his role? He was superb in the miniseries, and I can't see anyone else playing the part now.

Hopefully this will show the studios that the big stars aren't willing to work on inferior scripts and that they need the writers.

Maybe John Stamos can sub in. He isn't known for being so picky and he comes with a lower price tag.

If you want both eye candy and acting ability, go with either Heath Ledger or Ryan Phillipe. Though, given that Pitt is in his mid-forties, maybe either of these two would be too young for the part.

I guess Angie put her foot down. He has to stay home and keep the kids while she's out for all the photo ops. Lord he should have stayed with Jen.

Not a bad thing, IMHO... I'd take Johnny Depp over Brad Pitt any day of the week! :-x
