Bobby Brown, Marcia Brady Vie for Country Career

CMT in January will premiere Gone Country, a reality competition in which the likes of Bobby Brown, Carnie Wilson, Twisted Sister's Dee Snider, Idol finalist Diana DeGarmo, Julio Iglesias Jr., Maureen McCormick and R&B artist Sisqo are tutored by Big & Rich's John Rich in the ways of country crooning. According to the Reporter, the celebs will cohabitate in a Nashville manse for two weeks as they compete in challenges involving the on- and off-stage country-music lifestyle. At the end, Rich will dub one a winner, and he/she will release a song about, I am guessing, a great love gone wrong.

Maybe Marcia could sing a song about getting dumped by the "Big Man on Campus" Doug Simpson after getting hit in the nose by a football :)

Don't forget her lament about her braces (that lasted what, one episode?) "I'm Ugly, Ugly, Ugly!"

I thought that Maureen had already released a country album, albeit years ago. Not to mention that she played Barbara Mandrell in a biographical miniseries, so really, she's a ringer. :)

I'm not sure if I'll watch the show or not, although the thought of Dee Snider as a country singer is somewhat amusing.

Yeah, that made me giggle too. :)
I'm a sucker for these kinds of shows--at least to have playing in the background while I do other things--so I'll probably at least check it out. Could be cute.

Bobby Brown and Sisco (both of hip grinding R&B past fame) singing country? Be afraid. Be VERY afraid. How low can you go.

Well, since John Rich is about the WORST choice of someone to teach people how to sing country (Big n Rich are an absolute joke. They are NOT country singers, no matter how hard they try to tell you they are), this show won't be worth my time.
