Bawdy of Evidence: CSI and Sitcom Eye Scribe Swap
Jon Cryer and Charlie Sheen in Two and a Half Men by Greg Gayne/Warner Bros/CBS
Is Two and a Half Men serious about trading writing staffs with CSI? It's for real, should said deal get a green light from CBS. Confirming that which CSI boss Carol Mendelsohn teased at Tuesday's Banff festival, Men mastermind Chuck Lorre says the disparate shows may exchange scribes for a week, to see how the other half lives. "It's baffling and intriguing what they do. It'd be an interesting challenge," Lorre tells Variety.
But would the lark result in, like, an innuendo-laden Grissom? Or Stokes in bowling shirts? Would a Men-written CSI have a different tone? Says Lorre, "One would hope that we might be able to bend it a little bit, though not so much as to break it." That's what she said! (Feel free to give that line to Warrick, Chuck.)

Now if only the Two and a Half Men writers can teach the CSI writers that puns have not been funny since radio plays went off the air.

Let them cut their teeth somewhere else! The beauty of CSI writing(esp. with Grissom, whom I would like to be my baby daddy if I were inclined to get pregnant) is the wry comments and dry wit. I think sitcom writers will dumb it down and have to explain the jokes. They should stick with writing for the short bus.

Ouch! Tell us how you really feel, bluefairies! I think it's an interesting idea, especially with two disparate shows like these. I might even watch these--and I gave up on both shows years ago. (Just a personal preference--no offense!)

Your baby daddy? Get in line honey. LOL But seriously, I think it's a bad idea because THM's humor is too base. But then again, how can we really judge until we see the ep. I also find it amusing that no one seems the slightest bit interested in how this swap would affect THM, only CSI. And I'd bet that Carol M would not let CSI be compromised too badly. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing a scene where Warrick and Catherine are heading into a room and they hear wild squeaking and humping sounds (you know the old joke) and they think Grissom and Sara are knockin it in the evidence lay out room and it turns out to be something totally innocent. But then again, that's BASE humor and it's jumping the shark and all that. Last year it was K-Fed, this yeat it's this LOL

Something good could come out of this. Rose (Melanie Lynskey) from Two and a Half Men could be a weird suspect on CSI. And the CSI writers can plan the zoom close up special effects on THM when Jake picks his ear or some other body part.

Well it seemed like the writers for According to Jim wrote this past season of 24 so...

Wow - In my opinion CSI would be greatly improved by this sway but I would be very leary of how Two-and-a-Half-Men would turn out. The writers of CSI couldn't scribe a joke if it reached out and gave them a wet-wiilie!
I would love to see Grissom in a bowling shirt sitting at the bar oggling some hotties, then having to go out and solve a murder. Then going back to the bar, picking up said hottie and heading home with her!
I can hear Sara (Sui) Sidal bitching about it already!

As far as stunts go, this sounds like a fun one! I don't watch CSI: Anything, but I LOVE Two And A Half Men (yes, it's base, but it's clever base)! I think it would be fun to see what they'd do! (Not so incidentally, I'm kind of chuckling at how some of the CSI fans have no sense of humor.)

Maybe Two and half men's writers can improved CSI, because it has been going downhill since the end of season 6. And those of us who hate GSR know why.

I would certainly never say we don't have a sense of humor. It's more a sense of humor that others don't understand because, and perhaps, their thought processes are too base and they can't really think beyond the obvious.

Maybe they can find the lost CSI -- the one that used to have quirky comments from Gil Grissom, the funny moments that occurred with Greg, etc. Those were the great CSI stuff. Now it's all downhill with too much focus on the romances going on and not enough good content in what the show used to be. I used to love seeing Greg in the lab dancing and with his weird and wild hairdos! Then the things he would say to Grissom and the reaction by Grissom was priceless. They tried to do that with Hodges and he is great in his own way, but it all went downhill when Greg left the lab and went out in the field. Then came the romances or the hints of the romances and it hasn't been the same since. I love re-watching episodes of CSI from seasons 1, 2 and even 3 and some of 4, but after that, I kind of lost interest and it wasn't and isn't as fun to watch anymore.
